The Boneyard: An Interview with James Cummins and Richard Brophy (2004)

*** (out of 4)

THE BONEYARD director James Cummins and producer Richard Brophy take part in this thirty-one minute featurette, which has the two talking about their 1991 horror film. The two are interviewed seperately and they both do a great job at talking about the production of the film. Everything from the pre-production to the casting to the release of the film is discussed and if you're a fan of the film then you're going to get plenty of great information here. Some of the highlights deal with the casting, which of course included Norman Fell and Phyllis Diller but we also hear how Alice Cooper was originally wanted. We also get some great stories from the producer talking about what his job is on the set and how sometimes money controls what can or can't be done. Overall there's nothing too flashy about this but there's enough great information given to make it worth watching.
