  [Owlman throws him into the pile of defeated villains, causing them to slide into a chamber]

  Malcolm Merlyn : Kahndaq? You're not seriously thinking about recruiting Black Adam, are you?

• Lex Luthor : [after saving Batman and Catwoman]  What? Is that why Darkseid took my Rookie?

  Batman : Your Rookie has the last piece of the Anti-Life Equation.

  Catwoman : If Darkseid gets the Equation, it's lights out for the entire universe.

  Superman : [referring to Luthor's save]  Not bad, Luthor. I couldn't have done better myself.

  Lex Luthor : Well, while you were away, someone had to step in and take charge.

• Ultraman : [seeing Luthor near the Boom-Tube generator]  Luthor! No! Don't touch that.

  [starts rapidly pushing buttons. The Syndicate and the Legion retreat except for Joker, Harley, and the Rookie, who are promptly warped away. Lex smiles deviously before seeing Apokolips appear in the sky] 

• Batman : [confronting Luthor for his betrayal]  Are you going to come quietly?

  Superman : You're an escaped criminal, remember?

  Lex Luthor : But, what about the Rookie?

  Superman : Rookie played a big hand in saving the planet. Then didn't deliberately leave us marooned halfway across the galaxy.

• Commissioner James Gordon : [discussing the Rookie]  The suspect was apprehended at a laboratory break-in. The lab belonged to an old colleague of yours, Mr. Luthor, Professor Ivo.

  Lex Luthor : Professor Ivo? I still fail to see what a break-in has to do with me.

  Commissioner James Gordon : The good professor and you were mixed up with the Amazo project.

  Lex Luthor : The android capable of stealing powers from super heroes.

  Commissioner James Gordon : If our suspect has acquired similar abilities, they have the potential to become a huge threat. Maybe if you cooperate and decide if they're a danger, we could see about knocking a couple of decades off your sentence.

  Lex Luthor : Very well. I've no interest in yet another super-powered loser in the world.

  [as the Rookie walks into the room] 

  Lex Luthor : Who designed your costume?

  Commissioner James Gordon : This one doesn't say anything.

• Lex Luthor : [reuniting with Cheetah and Grundy]  Ah, my former criminal colleagues. Glad to have you with us, Cheetah, Grundy.

  Solomon Grundy : A new friend for Grundy?

• Lex Luthor : [discussing the plan]  If Darkseid is back on Apokolips, I can use the Boom Tube generator at LexCorp to get us up there.

  Batman : That would bypass most of their security. You think you can do that?

  Lex Luthor : I'm Lex Luthor. Of course I can.

• Catwoman : [having been saved by...]  Luthor!

  Batman : Luthor!

  Lex Luthor : Seems I had a train to catch.

• Solomon Grundy : [watching the Rookie absorb energy]  Huh? What Grundy's new friend doing?

  Mercy Graves : The lightning! The Rookie just... absorbed it! How is that possible?

  Lex Luthor : Acquiring super powers? It's just like Professor Ivo's Amazo project. Let's see if we can put these new abilities to good use.
