"Brigitte" Ingebirgitt Hannah Höss, born 18 August 1933, states that she had a 'beautiful childhood' while Holocaust happened beyond garden wall of the Höss villa at KZ Auschwitz. After the end of WW II she has lived a rather glamorous life, working as a catwalk model in Spain and later marrying an American and working in fashion in Washington. But, living under an assumed name, she was forced to closely guard the secret of her family name and even buried her mother under a gravestone simply reading 'mom' for fear of how others would react to the revelation.
Rudolf Höss (25 November 1901 - 16 April 1947) was a Nazi German SS-Obersturmbannführer (lieutenant colonel) and the longest-serving commandant of Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp in World War II. He tested and carried into effect various methods to accelerate Hitler's plan to systematically exterminate the Jewish population of Nazi-occupied Europe, known as the Final Solution. Höss was sentenced to death by hanging on 2 April 1947.
