Showdown at the Airport: How Would You Like Your Coffee?
lavatch1 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
There is a small and important detail that appears in the middle of this fourth program in the series. The quick-thinking Hanna follows the kind man who is the former army buddy of Erik. He now has a beautiful family and claims to run an honest cauliflower business. But Hanna witnesses him transporting young people in his trucks. This moment will figure in the end of the episode.

The focus of this program is the bargain that is made between the two adversaries, Marissa and Erik. Erik has taken Marissa captive and forces her to provide him extradition from Germany. A plane is set to transport Erik out of the country.

In the process of the deal-making, we learn that Erik fell in love with Joanna, who gave birth to little Hanna, donating the baby to the UTRAX project. But then Joanna wanted the child back. Erik felt compassion for her and helped her to steal the baby. Joanna died in the pursuit given by Marissa.

The UTRAX project was then scrapped because the secrecy had been breached by Erik's theft of baby Hanna. As a consequence, all of those little babies were killed and the UTRAX operation shut down. Hanna is the only living evidence of this dastardly experimental project.

A strange new character named Jerome Sawyer appears. He is an "off-the-books" and sleazy operator working in the employ of the defunct ATRAX project. He shrewdly rescues Marissa after her co-worker in the CIA was tipped off when Marissa told her that she was drinking coffee. As she was a non-coffee drinker, the colleague knew something was fishy in the plane deal.

The showdown occurs at the airport where Hanna flees the scene because she no longer trusts Erik. She knows that he is not her birth father, but he refuses to provide her with details. Erik is shot by Sawyer's team, but escapes in the car of his army buddy with the nice family.

Erik and Hanna are once again separated. Will Hanna ever forgive him for not telling her the truth? Why does Hanna pose such a threat to Marissa, Jerome, and the ATRAX people? What was the true nature of the experimental project with the children? All of those questions remain to be answered, as Hanna has secreted herself in one of the cauliflower trucks and is making her own getaway out of Berlin.

Still not feeling it.

Warning: Spoilers
Four episodes in and my interest still hasn't been captured fully. And it still doesn't feel like there's a bigger story at play. There have been a couple of mentions of Utrax which is apparently a project/operation, probably off-the-books, of the CIA, but that's it. Everything else that's happened up to this point felt pointless.

Hopefully, it starts to pick up and actually feel like there's a proper story behind it all instead of a bunch of random, pointless things put together.

Hanna!!!!! Hanna!!!!!

Warning: Spoilers
So in this episode Police are breaking down doors of Eric's friends looking for Eric and Marissa. Jacobs, now i guess in charge, is phoned to meet Marissa at a cafe, then led on a bread crumb trail where he is ambushed by Eric.

Eric tells Marissa that he wants Marissa to work to get rid of the international warrant that exists for Eric. To show Marissa he means business, he shoots Jacobs in the head. Oh I liked that.

+1 Star for shooting Jacobs in the head.

Hanna is sneaky sneaky and overhears Eric talking to Marissa. Eric has not told Hanna the whole truth about himself or herself. Eric hears something and investigates the noise, forcing Hanna to flee the area, seemingly unseen.

Eric and Marissa have a conversation about what happened to Joanna. Joanna was Hanna's mother that was killed in their escape. But really Marissa is right here. Joanna had signed away rights to the child. Legally the child had been given away. So here we have the argument of morality vs. legality.

Lot of hubbub goes on with the forces of what was it? Utrax or whatever looking for Eric and Marissa.

More conversation with Eric and Marissa discussing past and present.

Eric uses Marissa to set up a flight, the plan to get Eric and Hanna out of the country.

The cavalry shows up just in time to save Marissa from being executed by Rudy. Jerome Sawyer introduces himself to Marissa after saving her life.

Kind of a stupid scene really. That last possible moment crap.

-1 Star for just being way too cliche.

Hanna won't get on the plane with Eric. She confronts Eric what she heard him speaking with Marissa about. It was for the best tho because it was of course a trap, set by Sawyer. Sawyer really has a huge influence with the law or something in a foreign country that he can either command police or get permission for contractors to use automatic weapons. Really that just seems stupid to me and unrealistic.

-1 Star for that...

Really this episode ends with a 4/10
