Hook, Line and Sinker: An Interview with Jim Mallon (2018)
*** (out of 4)
This thirty-minute featurette is an interview with director Jim Mallon who discusses his cult horror film BLOOD HOOK. If you're a fan of low-budget movies then you're really going to enjoy this interview because Mallon goes into great detail about the pre-production side of things. He does a very good job at talking about how they got the money for the film and how all of the time spent on that meant they had less time on the screenplay. He gets into the writing credits on the film and from here we get some very good stories dealing with the casting, production and the eventual release of the movie. Fans of BLOOD HOOK are certainly going to enjoy this detailed featurette but I'd say those who don't enjoy the film but do enjoy learning about low-budget filmmaking should enjoy it too. I thought there were plenty of good stories about the production and it certainly kept me entertained throughout.
