- Cisco Ramon: Ladies and gentlemen, we finally have our hands on the meta-human cure. Cool, Cool. It's not like I spent weeks in the frozen tundra or anything.
- Sherloque Wells: No, no, no. I think that just people are waiting for inevitable "but" that follows such a big statement.
- Cisco Ramon: Mmm, no, it's done, and thanks to Caitlin, we even have a way to deliver our silver bullet, so, no "buts."
- Sherloque Wells: I believe there is a big "but" coming.
- Caitlin Snow: But we need to test the cure on a meta-human.
- Sherloque Wells: There it is.
- Caitlin Snow: We gotta talk.
- Cisco Ramon: Don't you know you shouldn't interrupt others while they're brooding? Trying to get my Oliver Queen on here.
- Dr. Tanya Lamden: I can't love Shay. He's my dead husband's doppelganger from Earth-2. How crazy would I have to be to fall in love with him?
- Sherloque Wells: No crazier than marrying the same woman from five different Earths... I know. I'm very good at marrying people, but not so great at staying married. Along the way, though, on these countless Earths and countless doppergangers, I learned there is one thing that makes all of us unique. And it that is what you fell in love with, well then, perhaps a face doesn't matter that much.
- Iris West-Allen: [reading a Group Text] King Shark versus Gorilla Grodd? Are you kidding me? I missed that?
- Cisco Ramon: I know Grodd almost turned all of our brains into scrambled eggs, but that Kaiju battle was the stuff of dreams.
- Nora West-Allen: Seriously, way better than anything I read in The Flash Museum.
- Sherloque Wells: These criminals are not going to relenquish their powers, although...
- Nora West-Allen: There's gotta be somebody somewhere.
- Sherloque Wells: Yes, on another Earth.
- Caitlin Snow: Oh, I'll call Harry, see if there's anybody from Earth-2 who wants to volunteer.
- Cisco Ramon: Yes.
- Sherloque Wells: Not really what I was suggesting.
- Cecile Horton: Look at these pictures. So peaceful.
- Iris West-Allen: Mm.
- Cecile Horton: So beautiful. So peaceful.
- Joe West: It is, isn't it? You know, I never understood why Wally went there. Now I do.
- Iris West-Allen: Well, it makes me wonder, is my baby brother ever coming back from Tibet?
- Joe West: Well, all I can say is that he is more at ease than he has ever been. And if that means he wants to stay away from... the crazy that is Central City, then you know what? So be it.
- Barry Allen: Oh, Lyla, this is, um... my daughter, Nora.
- Lyla Michaels: Your daughter?
- Barry Allen: Yeah.
- Nora West-Allen: I'm from...
- Lyla Michaels: The future, I'm guessing.
- Nora West-Allen: Weird, right?
- Lyla Michaels: No weirder than waking up one day to find out that your son used to be your daughter.
- Joe West: So, Cecile has brought me up to speed. Cicada; been very busy.
- Iris West-Allen: Yeah, well... you know, Team Flash will figure out a way to beat him.
- Joe West: But Jonesy was helping him right under our nose, and that got me thinking, Cicada's eluded capture for so long that I'm thinking that he's still getting help from somebody.
- Iris West-Allen: [evasively] I want more coffee. I'm gonna make some more coffee. Yeah, I'll bring you a fresh cup.
- Lyla Michaels: Normally, we don't bring it outside help, but we got wind that the top icthyologist in the country was doing research on cases just like King Shark's. Actually, I think you may know her.
- Cisco Ramon: Dr. Lamden? You're working for A.R.G.U.S. now?
- Dr. Tanya Lamden: Couldn't say no, and please, call me Tanya.
- Caitlin Snow: What about Nautilus Laboratories?
- Dr. Tanya Lamden: Director Michaels offered me the opportunity to work with another Shay Lamden, one afflicted with the same dark matter anomaly as my late husband, only this Shay system was causing his neural pathways to regress. I'm teaching him how to communicate effectively.
- Barry Allen: Are you saying his mind is becoming more shark-like?
- Dr. Tanya Lamden: It was, but not anymore. I stopped the regression of King Shark's mind using a cerebral interface that stimulates his neural outputs. I call it a telepathic crown.
- Cisco Ramon: Kind of like the M.A.D. 2.0 we built. That's brilliant.
- Dr. Tanya Lamden: My husband, the Shay Lamden of Earth-1, was a wonderful man. Now I have the chance to help another Earth's Shay Lamden, by giving him back his human mind. And since Shay's current state requires him to be in the water more, these earbuds allow me to hear him under water and vice versa.
- Lyla Michaels: The telepathic crown allows Tanya to get through to King Shark and curb his violent behavior.
- Nora West-Allen: Can we use the crown to talk to him?
- Dr. Tanya Lamden: Yes, but why?
- Barry Allen: We think we can make him human again.
- Caitlin Snow: It's taken a lot of work, but we think we figured out a way to transform dark matter-infused cells back to their non-meta state.
- Cisco Ramon: Now all we need to do is test it, so we came looking for a volunteer.
- Dr. Tanya Lamden: That could really work?
- Barry Allen: So, can we ask him?
- Dr. Tanya Lamden: Shay, a team from S.T.A.R. Labs is here. They have something you may want; a meta-cure for your condition. Trust me, their preliminary analysis on reversing meta-gene transfigurations proves there is a strong chance it could work, especially in icthyological prospects.
- [amused laugh]
- Dr. Tanya Lamden: No, I'm not just showing off. It's their research.
- [to the others]
- Dr. Tanya Lamden: Shay has a wonderful sense of humor.
- Cisco Ramon: So, are we supposed to call him King Shark or Shay?
- Dr. Tanya Lamden: Yes, I'm still here. Uh-huh. I agree. Okay.
- King Shark: [jumping out of the water] You believe this cure could help?
- Barry Allen: Yeah.
- Dr. Tanya Lamden: Where do we begin?
- Iris West-Allen: Stop, that did not happen.
- Joe West: Yes, it did. Look, my lips went numb, and then they swelled up so bad it looked like I had plastic surgery.
- Iris West-Allen: What did Wally do?
- Joe West: He laughed of course. The baby laughed. At least now I know I'm allergic to Szechuan peppers.
- Lyla Michaels: So, why King Shark?
- Caitlin Snow: Dark matter levels vary from meta-human to meta-human, but Shay Lamden's case is the most extreme we've seen, so we think if we could reverse the effects of a high level mutation like his...
- Lyla Michaels: You can help all meta-humans.
- Cisco Ramon: Look, we know King Shark has limited speech, but we're wondering could we try and talk to him? If we're gonna do this, we're gonna need his permission.
- Lyla Michaels: Well, you're in luck, Cisco. Lately, he's been quite talkative.
- Cisco Ramon: So, if I wanna boost the crown's powers, we got to get it to talk to MAD 2.0.
- Dr. Tanya Lamden: What about a lagorithmic code?
- Cisco Ramon: [looking at Sherloque] Exactly. You see, this is why we need more scientists on the team.
- Dr. Tanya Lamden: Shay tells me that all the time.
- Cisco Ramon: Well, the guy knows what he's talking about.
