Quotes

  • Lia Nelson : A speedster? Nora, lab mate, friend of mine, you didn't happen to pitch your speedster theory to Detective Curtis, did you?

Nora West-Allen : It is not a theory, Lia. It is the only explanation.

Lia Nelson : You know I'm equally a fan of our fleet-footed super friends. I mean, honestly, if I could have ever met Jesse Quick, it's like, hello, new best friend. No offense, um...

    Nora West-Allen : Some taken.

  • Nora West-Allen : Dad, please don't do this! I promise I will never see Thawne again! Dad, don't do this!

Barry Allen : Nora, if you try to run back in time again, I will feel it in the Speed Force. I'll know. Good-bye, Nora.

  • Gideon : Good evening, Nora West-Allen.

Nora West-Allen : Um, hi. Uh... You know who I am?

Gideon : Of course. Nora West-Allen. Daughter of Iris West and Barry Allen, also known as the Flash.

Nora West-Allen : [stammers]  Did you just say my father, Barry Allen, was the Flash?

Gideon : Would you like me to play your video message, Nora-West Allen?

    Nora West-Allen : My - my message?

Gideon : Yes, from your father, Barry Allen.

    Nora West-Allen : Uh, y-yes.

Barry Allen : Nora, I don't have much time. If you're watching this, it means you're like me. You have powers. It also means I wasn't there to help you learn how to use them. I wasn't there for a lot of things. Remember, my sweet Nora, always remember, I love you. I always will.

  • Nora West-Allen : Mom, why are you calling Mr. Myles?

Iris West-Allen : I tried you at your lab. You weren't answering. I left three messages. You never returned any of them. What else was I supposed to do?

Nora West-Allen : Wait for me to call you back?

Iris West-Allen : Why isn't your holo on?

Nora West-Allen : Uh, it doesn't work in the Flash Museum.

Iris West-Allen : For the life of me, I've never understood your obsession with that place. What are you even doing there? Are you there alone?

    Nora West-Allen : It's fine, mom. I'm researching a case.

Iris West-Allen : What kind of case?

    Nora West-Allen : One that I can't talk about.

  • Lia Nelson : Your mom lied to you your whole life. I mean, that's next-level aggro.

Nora West-Allen : How could she keep something like that from me? I mean, what else has she lied to me about?

Lia Nelson : I think you're gonna have to ask her.

Nora West-Allen : Oh, just the idea of that makes my blood boil.

Lia Nelson : That could be the macchiato.

    [laughing]

Lia Nelson : It's possible I might have made that a triple.

Nora West-Allen : At least I have one person in my life I can still trust.

  • Barry Allen : How many times did you go back to Thawne?

Nora West-Allen : How many times?

Barry Allen : After the night of the Enlightenment.

Nora West-Allen : Five, uh, maybe six.

Barry Allen : Even knowing he killed my mother?

    Nora West-Allen : Dad...

Barry Allen : I understand coming back to meet me, and the team. I do. I even understand going to Thawne to learn how to do it, but... you kept going back. Even after you knew what he did. Even after he wasn't your only option anymore. And the worst part is, you lied to us every time.

    Nora West-Allen : D-Dad, I...

Barry Allen : I don't trust you, Nora. I can't have anybody here with us that I don't trust anymore.

    Nora West-Allen : W-What are you saying?

Barry Allen : It's time for you to go home.

  • Nora West-Allen : Does this look familiar?

    [speeding closer]

Nora West-Allen : How about now?

    Iris West-Allen : Nora...

Nora West-Allen : Lia found it before she died. You put this inside of me, mom. To dampen my powers? You lied to me my whole life.

    Iris West-Allen : I know.

Nora West-Allen : Who else knows? Who else?

    Iris West-Allen : Everyone.

Nora West-Allen : Everybody? Everyone that I love has been keeping this from me? Why?

Iris West-Allen : Because I told them to.

Nora West-Allen : Why would you do that?

Iris West-Allen : Nora, I was trying to protect you.

    Nora West-Allen : From what?

Iris West-Allen : From this city. From... from meta-humans. From... from yourself.

    Nora West-Allen : Wow.

    Iris West-Allen : Nora, you don't understand.

Nora West-Allen : No, I don't understand. How did I get my powers? What do you have against speedsters?

Iris West-Allen : Nora, I have already lost so much. I can't risk losing you, too.

Nora West-Allen : Well, you just did.

  • Cecile Horton : The one person in the world she thought she could trust died in her arms.

Caitlin Snow : Nora must have felt completely alone.

Barry Allen : But she wasn't.

Iris West-Allen : Yes, she was. Because I wasn't honest with her.

    Barry Allen : Iris...

Iris West-Allen : After all I did, she gave me a second chance. It's the least we can do for her.

Nora West-Allen : [cut to the Pipeline]  Mom?

Iris West-Allen : [opening her cell]  Don't make me regret this.

  • Lia Nelson : You fried your gauntlet and half the fleet.

Nora West-Allen : Well, it was only three cruisers.

Lia Nelson : Now Captain Frye's gonna be on his warpath, which is gonna make everybody's life miserable. I'm sorry, Nora. I know today didn't exactly go so great.

Nora West-Allen : Both robbers got away because of me.

Lia Nelson : Cut yourself a slice of slack pie. It was your first day. No one got hurt, and plus, they found Bug and Byte hunched over with runner's cramps, like, ten minutes later.

Nora West-Allen : But I still feel so bad.

Lia Nelson : You're looking at this all wrong. Today was not Nora's big failure. Today was the Femme Flash's big debut. Naming superheroes is not easy.

  • Nora West-Allen : Lia, you are the best friend a schrappy speedster could ever ask for. But I think we both know that CCPD isn't equipped to stop this guy. The only way we're gonna catch him before anyone else gets hurt is if I start thinking like a villainous speedster.

Lia Nelson : And how are you gonna do that?

Nora West-Allen : I'm gonna go see one.

  • Lia Nelson : Catch this.

    Nora West-Allen : [catching a Flash bobblehead]  I'm okay!

    Lia Nelson : You sure?

Nora West-Allen : [laughing giddily]  Yeah, dude. I'm a speedster. All of my nerves are tingling, and my synapses must be going crazy, because my reaction times are way off the charts.

[putting the bobblehead down as she looks at a picture of her as a baby with Barry and Iris]

Nora West-Allen : What am I gonna do about my mom? She freaks out anytime someone even says the word "meta".

Lia Nelson : Okay, well, that's understandable. I mean, her non-meta husband died because of metas.

Nora West-Allen : Yeah, but writing about the Flash, *the* meta-human, made her career.

Lia Nelson : So we can't tell her?

Nora West-Allen : No. We can't tell anybody. Not until we figure out how I got these powers. And I don't think it's a coincidence that this happened after my little run-in with the... god of speed guy.

Lia Nelson : You mean when Godspeed hit you with his lightning. Which, according to the Flash Museum, is exactly what happened to...

Lia Nelson , Nora West-Allen : The Flash.

  • Lia Nelson : There hasn't been a speedster in Central City since that... crisis piece your mom wrote about, like, decades ago. I mean, Flash, Kid Flash, Jay Garrick, that-that weird purple speedster that just showed up one day. They're all gone, so what you're suggesting... highly unlikely.

Nora West-Allen : Then we need to start believing in the highly unlikely.

Lia Nelson : Alternatively, um, you could... dial back your obsessiveness.

    Nora West-Allen : I'm not obsessive!

Lia Nelson : [pulling out a whiteboard]  You never got to know your dad, so you became a CSI just like him, and it's why you keep investigating one case Barry Allen never solved: Cicada.

Nora West-Allen : You call that obsessive, I call that a hobby.

Lia Nelson : Right, your, um... your classic, everyday... murder hobby. It's like your mom says, you're, uh... you're excessive.

Nora West-Allen : Do not quote my mother.

  • Lia Nelson : God, I wish CCPD would spring for one of these affinity cameras. I mean, trillion FPS, captures light in motion.

    [seeing something strange]

    Lia Nelson : W-T-Schrap?

    Nora West-Allen : That's lightning.

Lia Nelson : The cannister's gone.

    Nora West-Allen : White lightning. A speedster.

    Lia Nelson : Okay, maybe.

Nora West-Allen : No, not maybe. It is! I knew it!

Lia Nelson : Okay, fine, you're right. But... but what is a speedster doing stealing chemicals?

  • Nora West-Allen : Oh, my God!

Godspeed : Yes, I am a god. The god of speed.

  • Nora West-Allen : [being chased by Godspeed]  I can't lose him! Thawne! Did you hear me? I said I can't lose him!

Eobard Thawne : All right, Nora, do you see any walls near where you are, preferably concrete?

    Nora West-Allen : Why?

Eobard Thawne : Because I want you to run into one. Or rather, through one.

    Nora West-Allen : I can't run through a concrete wall!

Eobard Thawne : Yes, you can. If you vibrate at the natural frequency of air, your body-your cells will be in such a state that they will phase right through the wall.

    Nora West-Allen : I can't do this!

Eobard Thawne : Nora, listen to me. Listen to my voice. Breathe. Breathe. Feel the wind in your face. The ground beneath your feet. And the lightning. Its electricity surging through your veins. To your nerve endings from the crown of your head to the tips of your toes like an electric shock you never want to end. You're part of something greater now, Nora. You are part of the Speed Force and its power, it's power is yours to use. Now do it.

  • Nora West-Allen : [written in her journal]  TRANSLATION TRN-001-495A It's only in looking back, do I realize my journey actually started on a day that seemed like any other day... I was late... er, really late, to a crime scene at 7th and Miller. Knowing Detective Curtis waited for me at the scene, I tried to flag down three different hover-taxis, but they all passed me by. So I had to book it there on foot. As I dodged pedestrians, my mother, Iris West-Allen, rang through on my Gauntlet. I dismissed her call, but was distracted enough to smack right into a man wearing a second generation robo-synth viewfinder. I apologized, but as I was late, this interaction was brief and one-sided. Arriving at the scene, I took in the sight of a visibly a ransacked chemical transport truck, before joining Detective Curtis. She explained the truck was attacked that morning, on its way to Dayton Labs. No witnesses. I noted its similarity to four other robberies that week. Including two labs, and two other transports. The scene was covered in residue, which I scanned to learn was Benzene Methanol

[common uses include: nano-tech, lice elimination]

Nora West-Allen : . To my surprise, my analysis also indicated a concentrated amount of Halothane near the entrance of the truck.

    [common use: fail-safe, incapacitating agent]

Nora West-Allen : , which led me to discover an Affinity 4k camera. As I bagged its drive, I began to form a theory that the meta responsible was actually a speedster. I didn't pitch this theory to Curtis, because she's well aware of my admiration for The Flash

    [and speedsters in general]

Nora West-Allen : and I knew she would dismiss it as wishful fan-girl-ing...
