It's fair to say the opening episode will receive mixed reviews, love it or hate it I'm sure it will be talked about for its content. I found the first part relevant, and interesting, but a little slow, the second part was so much better, it was much better paced, energetic, and had some really interesting ideas.
How many times have fans of the show watched and complained about the Lyell team taking over the job of the Police, and how friction free both teams are, I really liked the fact that they addressed this, adding more then just a mere antagonism, the vibe between Thomas and DCI Cramer was really good, the scenes between the two were great. I wish Jemima Rooper had had a bigger role.
I can hear the cries of PC, anti Brexit BBC ringing from a distance, but both things are relevant in today's day and age, and the writers took them on board.
Overall I liked the story, so great to have the wonderful Silent Witness back for Series 22.
