All the space images were created by the director Simon Öster and writer/producer Kevin Gullberg in a fish tank.
The film was created entirely with practical effects, using a fish tank for the space images, a real robot puppeteered remotely with an exoskeleton and a PlayStation controller, miniature models for the spacecrafts and real scale sets for the spacecraft interiors. No CGI, 3D or animation was used.
Due to the difficulty of making a live-action space adventure with only practical effects, the film took over six years to make from start to finish. With a run time of 12 minutes, that's 2 minutes of final footage per year of production.
Six years in the making, this is Simon Öster's directorial debut.
