Storyline
Did you know
- TriviaGuy is revealed to be a feminist. This explains why he's so attached to the independent Michellee and her equally strong-willed daughter E.B. He takes the opposite view of his voice actor Michael Douglas, who once complained to a reporter of feminists and their "unreasonable demands" on the heels of the release of 'Fatal Attraction' in 1987.
- Quotes
[Sam has accidentally extinguished their campfire]
Sam: How about I make it up to you with a bite of these green eggs and ham?
Guy: No, thank you.
Sam: Are you sure? They're really good in the dark. The lack of sight truly heightens your other senses.
[He chews on them loudly]
Sam: Mmm! Mmm! Those just sound delicious.
Guy: I would not like them in the dark.

Guy's Finest Hour
Wow, Guy can be a real downer. But no wonder. Not only have his dreams as an inventor been dashed, he and Sam are forced to spend the night in a junkyard in a deep pit. Not even his inventing skills will help him because everything he makes blows up, so he's particularly pessimistic.
EB and Michellee arrive at a bed and breakfast and of course Michellee's overprotectiveness causes EB to get bored.
'Dark' has a few moments worthy of its title as Sam almost gets them killed, and Guy reveals his dark and troubled past. We also learn about the Chickeraffe's: it was stolen from its mother by poachers. Sam begins to tell his story and although he gets interrupted, his story is the most tragic of all.
That said, 'Dark' is absolutely hilarious. With Guy's deadpan wit and Sam's goofiness, they make a classic pair.
Ultimately it's Sam who saves the day this time around, which shows that optimism has true value in it. And whereas Sam and Guy's need to stay together seemed a little contrived in the last episode, here the friendship they're forming feels genuine and natural. Either this episode or 'Box' is the most 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles' of the series.
