Abhishek Banerjee, who will soon be seen in a negative role in the film ‘Apurva’, has revealed how his first film ‘Stree’ was a huge risk in his career. Abhishek Banerjee wowed everyone with his performance in ‘Stree’, and now he will be seen in a dark shade in the upcoming film ‘Apurva’.
Talking about that one film where he was ready to take a risk in his career, he said: “Stree, my first film was a huge risk. It was difficult to play that character and not make it over the top caricaturish. Before doing this film, I had done an Indie film ‘Ajji’ and on the first day of the shoot, our director Amar Kaushik told me in front of everyone that I need to come out of Ajji.

Raj & Dk, the creators of the upcoming streaming show ‘Guns & Gulaabs’, have shared that the show has been shot in Uttarakhand, in and around the state’s capital city Dehradun. However, the creators made a choice to set the show in north India as they got the texture and the tone suitable for the show in Uttarakhand.
Talking about the show, Krishna D.K. of Raj & Dk, said, “We spent the maximum time looking for the ideal location for this show. It took us almost three months to lock the final location as we went around a lot of locations across the country.”

Bollywood A-lister Varun Dhawan’s next film is the keenly anticipated Prime Video film “Bawaal,” from Nitesh Tiwari, director of India’s all-time highest grosser “Dangal.”
Dhawan plays a charming, vainglorious and image-conscious history teacher who gains redemption via profound realizations stemming from his study of WWII and from his new bride, portrayed by Janhvi Kapoor. The film shuttles between Lucknow in northern India and Western Europe.
Dhawan and Kapoor read for their parts separately with Tiwari, deliberately. “It’s like yin and yang, we’re like two opposites that attract and form a team. But we really did go about this film as a team. There was a little method approach to it, like in the first half of the film, when my character is not very nice to hers. New Delhi, July 11 (Ians) The highly-anticipated ‘Stree 2’ starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, which is the sequel to the sleeper hit ‘Stree’, has been making waves among fans since its announcement.
On Tuesday, the makers officially announced the commencement of the ‘Stree 2’ shoot, along with releasing the theme of the movie. But, unlike the prequel, which had a message ‘O stree kal aana’, it has been replaced with ‘O stree raksha karna’.
The spooky video released by the makers shows a dark quiet road of Chanderi in Madhya Pradesh, with a poster on the wall saying ‘missing’ and some photos attached with it.
Then, it displays the theme — ‘sarkate ka aatank’ (headless horror — with the shadow of a hand holding a head, as the backdrop.
Along with the video, the makers wrote, “Ek baar phir Chanderi mein phaila aatank! Stree 2 filming begins! Aa rahi hai woh – August...

From its inception in the early part of the genre's history, the fascination and love for the werewolf have persisted quite heavily, making it one of the biggest genre icons and most popular movie monsters concocted over the years. This has led to it being utilized as everything from a rampaging, mindless monster to a dark, philosophical soul capable of layers of metaphorical care underneath the lupine facade. Having attempted something similar with witches several years ago in “Stree,” director Amar Kaushik decides to utilize the legendary creature for a hard-hitting ecological message in his return to the genre with “Bhediya.”

Actor Abhishek Banerjee, who is known for his work in ‘Paatal Lok, ‘Stree, ‘Bhediya and ‘Tvf Pitchers, essayed “by far the most difficult” character in the upcoming crime-thriller series titled ‘Rana Naidu, which also stars Venkatesh and Rana Daggubati.
Abhishek recently told the media, “It is by far the most difficult character I have attempted. It was way out of my comfort zone. Lately, I have done all the UPites and North Indian characters, which made people think I am from Kanpur or Allahabad. But I was looking for something that challenged me more. And I think, whenever you have to get to some kind of diction or like an accent which is not very familiar to you, I think you start thinking about it more. So, to do that was the most challenging part for me.”
He added, “You will see how messed up my character is when you see the show.

Between the Sundance-laurelled “Against the Tide,” “Pathaan'”s thundering box-office and Netflix’s quietly gripping miniseries “Trial by Fire,” India is on a roll in Q1 of 2023, consolidating the recent red-carpet success of “Rrr” and “All That Breathes.”
In theory, that slate should be bolstered further by the return of nifty genre technicians Raj & Dk – writer-director-producers Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. – who helped renovate the haunted-house movie with 2018’s “Stree” before handing Prime Video one of its biggest Indian hits with “The Family Man.”
Yet the oddly flat “Farzi” suggests the limitations of the pair’s approach – and that even streaming’s brighter minds might be prone to burnout.
Until now, the pair’s formula has been comparable to Xzibit’s on “Pimp My Ride”: take a clapped-out banger of a story and extensively redesign it. “Farzi” pushes its luck from the off with its uncommonly generic, get-rich-or-die-trying plot.

Bollywood actor Aparshakti Khurana, who is known for his work in films like ‘Dangal’, ‘Stree’ and ‘Luka Chuppi’ and several others, recently revealed that he always wanted to join the Indian Army because of his love for the uniform.
And, it was not just an aspiration, the actor appeared for the National Defence Academy exam which is conducted by Upsc for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA.
However, Aparshakti unfortunately didn’t get through. Talking about his respect for the uniform, the actor said: “I have always looked up to the people in uniform with a lot of respect. They have a certain dignity that the command and the way they conduct themselves is simply exemplary.”
The actor further mentioned that although he didn’t get through the exams, he still harbours the same amount of admiration for the kind of life that the men in uniform live.

Hindi cinema of late seems to be in trouble as Bollywood’s big-ticket releases such as ‘Samrat Prithviraj’, ‘Shamshera’, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ and ‘Raksha Bandhan’ have failed to impress the audience.
Nevertheless, a motley bunch of films starring names such as Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Ajay Devgn, Varun Dhawan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon are lined up for release in the coming months.
However, the million-dollar question looming over the furrowed brows of distributors is: Will these movies ensure the return of ‘achche din’ for Bollywood?
The first big film, which is slated to hit the screens is Ayan Mukerji’s trilogy ‘Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva’ starring newly wed couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt along with Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna. The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on September 9.
