After a couple of seasons running with a mini-series approach as part of the episode block, the tenth season doesn't do that, and it is a shame. I felt there was potential to have a block of episodes which focused specifically on the building conflict and relationships, and do so in a structured and focused way. We do get some build across this season but it feels a bit patchy as it is part of unrelated episodes and material but it returns in force to setup the final four episodes which will come at some point this year.
The episodes are good though, and with some good character development (I didn't really need the Treetrunks development to be honest) and plenty of good humor and creative writing in the episodes. Themes of family and conflict are run through the 12 episodes in a way that is there if you want it but doesn't matter too much if you don't. Like I said, I would have preferred it to have taken the mini-series approach again, but I guess this is what the final episodes will be. Overall a good bundle of episodes at the usual high standard, but perhaps not the 'final season build' that I had been hoping for.
