Not quite sure where my 90 minutes went and undecided about the feelgood factor.
However, a warm fuzzy feel of a film and will keep you watching until the end which is not disappointing and neither enthralling.

This movie was nothing spectacular but it will hold your interest from start to finish. It is just a good-natured movie. I kept waiting for it to go from alright to great but it just never happened. Perhaps with a bigger budget, "The Joke Thief" could have been transformed into somtething very special. In epany event, it certainly is not terrible. The film centers around the life of a comedian who has a rep for stealing jokes. Basically, it takes you on a journey through his life. If moves by very quickly and seems more like a television show than a full length feature film.
Well. I will start by saying it's more of life observation that a movie. It's honesty touched Me and I really engaged with Simon (the main character).
Life is short and keep trying to make it or reaching for something you always wanted is never impossible. A small budget, but big on hope and honesty. You will switch off in 10 minutes or fall in love. But hey, that's life.x

It's clear that in today's landscape we have films get their numbers and reviews placed by people involved with the movie. While quality is certainly somewhat subjective, the theory that stat padding is usually pretty clear when you've seen a movie that has much different reviews than the rest while those positive have it being the only one that account has filled out. Lesser known films this is more obvious.
This is certainly a case of that.
The Joke Thief is written, directed, starred, produced etc all by the same individual. A Canadian entrepreneur who has so much money that he basically creates movies as a hobby. It's too bad they aren't good ones.
Even the best scene in the movie is ruined by a reveal immediately afterwards that the movie is taking itself way too seriously. It's ironic that a movie called the Joke Thief doesn't have very many good ones.
Sometimes you find a small film and it's a welcome experience. You wonder how this is so under the radar. This one proves that sometimes small films aren't very widely known for a reason.

If you're a fan of standup comedy then you will love The Joke Thief. Centered around an aspiring standup comedian, (Simon, played by Frank D'Angelo) he embarks on a tale of love, loss, introspection and redemption. Simon finds the answers to most of life's questions thanks to a lovable and unassuming hero Jerry. Nervous on the way to a big gig, Simon learns to be grateful for even the smallest things in life. Simon realizes he's taken a few things for granted and perhaps it's time to make amends. The acting is superb and Frank D'Angelo's on-screen presence is nothing short of undeniable as he weaves through the scenes of different emotions in a search of a lifelong dream.

Much like everything else Frank D'angelo does, it was complete garbage. His own production, acting, and music make for one of the worst movies you will ever watch. You clearly need to be missing a few brain cells to enjoy it.
My only question is how much these people were paid, obviously by Frank, to give positive reviews ????? To anyone making good reviews on here, are you dumb or did you get paid? Idiots.
Frank, you are terrible at literally EVERYTHING you do. Go back to digging carrots out of the garden.

I came across an add for this movie on twitter and decided to find it and give it a try. Well! Am I ever glad I did. This movie deserves a lot of hype. What a creative, entertaining movie! It had a great main character with a great story and yet the additional characters really enriched the film! The movie was sad at times, real and sort of inspiring. It was a little daunting but really captured what being a comedian is like. Sometimes the joker isn't always the happiest. This movie told a story of perseverance and desperation. Desperation to be funny, to be liked by any means possible. It was a really entertaining movie that I would recommend to anyone.
Unnecessary racist bits especially with the taxi thing, the taxi driver must have said he likes taxi driving (his "job") like 10 times in an interval of 5 minutes. I guess British "superiority" complex is showing here as if Sub-continent "Indians" love to drive the great British people around in their "curry" smelling taxis.
Which they immediately made sure that the "hero" isn't in a smelly taxi, but rather a brand-new one, so hopefully he didn't get suffocated.
Unnecessary dialogues and pauses and close shots, making it seem like a waste of time.

From the cinematic universe of Frank D'Angelo comes another entertaining and fascinating film. The Joke Thief is funny, thoughtful, and well written. This is a provocative film that really makes you think about life. It takes you through a romp of feelings and emotions. It made me think about my own life as well. It's beautifully shot, incredibly acted, and the best film I've seen so far in 2018!
My son likes this guy Frank D'Angelo and so do I now. Hes a modern day Sinatra I think. Sings Acts, whole
thing. The Joke Thief was great lotta stuff I laughed at but also related to.
I watched sicilian vampire after this on TV we rented it,
bottom line D'Angelo knows how to do a movie!

The Joke Thief will have you laughing and crying at the same time. It's truly a beautiful film. Featuring Simon a struggling comedian played by Frank D'Angelo who is down on his luck and always looking for way to get a leg up on the competition. His bitterness and insecurities are evident as he struggles to make ends meet all the while realizing how he got where he is in the first place. This bittersweet film teaches life lessons at every turn as it showcases an unlikely pairing of Simon and his Uber driver Jerry. Far from a just an Uber driver, Jerry enlightens the entire audience. A must see!!

I saw The Joke Thief in Las Vegas during the AOF Film Festival, and it was certainly of the best films there. It's funny and sometimes dark. But most of all it makes you think about life, and to appreciate every day. It made me realize that I need to be happy with who I am and what I am doing on this earth and always reach for your dreams. I recommend this movie as a must see for sure!

A really fantastic film that embraces the struggles and triumphs in life. Everyone wants their children to be happy and not struggle through life. For some people life comes easy for others it may be a bit more difficult. Happiness comes with hurdles to overcome. Simon the protagonist in the film has a choice, go into the family business and have security for the rest of his life or follow his dream, and pave his own way of fame and fortune. But paving his own way comes with challenges, hard work and struggle. The Joke Thief will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions, bringing in focus insecurities, failures, regrets, and enlightenment. A must see for film anyone who has children.

Saw this in Vegas , My new favorite movie. The music was great and I know that Frank D'Angelo performs it all , Ive already bought the CD online. *Side note The guy also wrote directed and starred in the movie plus did all the music? who the heck has the time or energy ! Watch this movie if you really just want to see a classic comedy, I personally am tired of hollywood hoopla so this was refreshing. I havent seen any of his other movies but I think I will now that I know what this guy has to offer.
