This movie is reminiscent of Def Jam's How to Be a Player. The main character is a ladies' man who breaks the fourth wall to tell us his rules of dating, only to later realize that in love there are no rules. The plot is predictable, but could still be entertaining if done correctly. However the movie falls flat. Most of the scenes are unnecessary and go on way too long. The dialogue is awful. There is no chemistry between the two leads & the acting is terrible. The movie is low budget, which wouldn't be a problem normally except that the locations take you out of the movie. For example, on one date the girl is talking about how she has never been to a restaurant so fancy and the location looks like a basement with plain white walls, a few tables with no decorations, & folding chairs. But the worst part of the movie was the pacing. Most romantic movies have a "boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl back" arc, but this one goes for an entire hour with the main couple being happy & dating before the script writer realizes they need a villain or something dramatic to happen. So they introduce a character that we have never seen before. All we get for an explanation is "oh it's Raven - that girl I went on a few dates with before, remember?" No, we don't remember because she was never mentioned or shown before. She brings the main character cookies and that causes two people supposedly in love to break-up? Very unrealistic & lazy storytelling. Then after that one scene, she is never mentioned or shown again. In conclusion, I would skip this movie unless you wanna have it on for background noise while you do something else.
