It was during the editing when Director Dave Krunal who also edited the film realised that his time travel film was shot in reverse order. Due to cast and location availability, the climax was shot first and beginning at the end.
Dave Krunal wrote the first draft in English but as he felt Indian cast was available at that time, he decided to make it in Hindi. However, the protagonist was a cab driver and no real taxis were available for the shoot for the film. The project got delayed and casts were unavailable. Finally, Dave revisited the story and decided to use his own car as an Uber. After two years, the reachable casts were his friends and the script got evolved into Gujarati language.
All the actors had no previous experience in acting prior to work in Chakr.
A Polaroid camera from Dave Krunal's first short film Curious is seen in one of the scenes inside the house.
The entire film is based on the domestic violence event in neighborhood Dave Krunal witnessed at the back of his apartment. He called Crime Stoppers to report the incident. When Dave was questioned about specifics of the event, he could not answer as the vision was blurry. It was after the phone call; he had a bizarre idea what if he could travel back in time to see the event from a different window. The idea further developed into a script for Chakr.
