Writing needs a lot of work. Cinematography is good as is the editing.

Give it a skip

The story was hard to follow for me but maybe that was because all I could focus on was how it romanticized stalking and harassing your ex. I just found the leading man deeply unlikable and it made it hard to enjoy any of the movie. The cinematography is nice though.

You don't get to see many movies like this anymore. Chill pace, clever dialogue, very real slice of life. Worth hanging through - getas better and picks up speed as it goes.

If you like stories about thieving magpies or la cassa ladra et cetera, and have lots of giggles during and one explosive laugh at the end, then watch Write When You Get Work. i went into this on random and ive become a more happy guy after watching it.

its about young adults, that works for love, steals for love, swindles for love, breaks in for love, and all of this starts by accident, when a baseball coach dies, and everyone that grew up in that neighbourhood shows up, so does the feamale lead, played by Rachel Keller, a dream like blonde creature, who hasnt been around for 9 years, and her highschool sweetheart and the biggest petty croock in the neighbourhood , gets gobsmacked by this smashing beauty turning up again, its like woody woodpecker falling in love - style...... well that was 2 % of the story, do watch and enjoy the twists. its decent acting, easy story, good filming and editing, and most of all sirens inthe background noise, never a new yorkish film without that.

because its funny its full of twists, its in a way sad, and its at times deadly serious business, but most of all its the romantic hunt to regain love from a person youve actually and quite unconciously love , but have forgotten. there are also a lot of money at stake, so if you love the joys of others economic untergangs this will suit you well.

you might have another opinion than mine, lets say'' slow and daft'', but tonight this film hit me like dirty harry's magnum 44 parabellum slug in the ''feel good ''-part of my cerebellum, so the grumpy old man recommends this Comedy , Drama , Romance piece of filmmaking. well done.....

Interesting and original

Warning: Spoilers
At first this movie needs concentration. It pays off. The talented Finn Wittrock plays a small time criminal from the wrong side of the tracks. His ex girl friend played by Rachel Keller works in the admissions office of a fancy girl's school in Manhattan. He sees an opportunity when he finds one of the girls' mothers played by Emily Mortimer, is married to a hedge fund guy in trouble. She wants to him to help her hide money and things from the authorities.

This is a current and original movie looking at the haves and have nots in NYC that's quite involving.
