Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • Eleven has to perform surgery on her leg to remove a tendril that has buried itself under her skin. It shows everything in very graphic detail.
  • A Man is Thrown into a machine that rips him apart. Blood is shown briefly but it's still gruesome
  • Pretty big battle where lots of characters die. (2 main)
  • When Billy is getting killed by the mind flayer, blood flows out of his mouth from his chest.
  • Hopper and Grigori get into a brutal fistfight - There is a little bit of blood but nothing too major. Hopper then hurls Grigori into the spinning gears of the gate. Blood goes everywhere but it is very brief and not too realistic.
  • A tendril has buried itself inside Eleven's leg. It is pretty gory and you can see it moving around under her skin. Jonathon then gets a knife and cuts it open. This is very realistic and fairly gory. He then inserts his hand into the wound, trying to pull it out - it is pretty disgusting. Eleven screams in pain then tells him to stop and removes it with her powers. The tendril is then stamped on by Hopper.
  • Billy goes pow!

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • End scene reveals a guy getting eaten from the Demogorgon in Russia
  • The most gruesome episode with people being eaten mutilated, graphically murder.
  • A very intense scene shows Joyce Byers and Jim Hopper in a room with a machine that's ripping a hole to the Upside Down. Hopper ends up sacrificing himself to save his daughter and the other kids and Joyce blows up the machine, killing everyone in the room with the machine, including Hopper. This scene is very intense
  • In a very climatic scene, a still possessed Billy is about to feed El to the monster. El eventually gets to Billy from inside and Billy ends up sacrificing himself to save El. We see the monster rip out his heart and black liquid coming out of Billy's mouth and ears. Max runs up to her dead step-brother and starts crying. This scene is very dramatic.
  • The ending is very emotional and depressive.
