Pushing the Envelope

As the characters try to negotiate their next moves, there are some things here that go a little overboard. I did enjoy the treasure maps and the fact the Joel's family has thousands of dollars hidden. What happened here, however, is that Midge seemed to slip into her comedic character, with all its bite and fury, in a situation where it was totally inappropriate. She did have a bit to drink, but for someone as insightful as she seems to be, her actions were deplorable. Then, there is the full frontal nudity, which seems like a cheap form of going beyond for its own sake. I hope they can get back on track again. I continue to enjoy Susie's character very much.

I love this series and was lucky enough to pre-screen the first three episodes and review them for possible changes. My opinion is that Midge is too smart to behave in such poor taste at her friend's wedding. Even I was uncomfortable! Hope they put this great show back on course.

What happened here? A brilliant S1 then 3 bad eps of the 2nd season in a row. Still great direction, look, sound and actors. But the writing in this ep is insulting. I hope things improve by E5.

This episode was so disappointing. All of a sudden Midge has become a modern day, post ERA, Amy Schumer-esque shock comic? The writing of this episode is awful. They're constantly using words and phrases that simply didn't exist in the 1950's. Midge and Susie constantly degrade, humiliate and curse at men as if that were an option in those days. Yelling the F word across the deli? When that type of language got Midge arrested in Season 1? More than once? It's just getting ridiculous. I won't expect a season 3 at this rate.

Amazon Prime showing censored version in India

Amazon - This show is great, but why are showing censored version in India? What's the point of your platform if you are conforming to the same self censorship which usual TV shows impose on themselves? And to think of it, in addition to the nudity you are blurring the cigarettes too! I would still continue watching the show, because as I said it's great, but you have lost the respect!
