Revisiting Salo
Dante Ferretti on 'Salo' (2011)
*** (out of 4)
Prodction designer Dante Ferretti is on hand for this twelve-minute interview that has him discussing his work on Pier Paolo Pasolini's SALO: THE 120 DAYS OF SODOM. Before getting to that film, Ferretti discusses what he knew of the director as well as some of his earlier films that he had seen. From here we get into the actual making of SALO and how the production designer was pretty disturbed by what he was seeing. He talks about the locations that were used and what he did to make them right for the film. From here he also talks about why he hasn't seen the film since it was originally released. If you're a fan of Ferretti or the film then you'll enjoy this interview as there's a lot of good information on the film as well as a nice tribute to its late director.
