lesser Booksmart
SnoopyStyle8 February 2022
Sam (Abby Quinn) and Danielle (Stefanie Scott) are academically over-achieving best friends. Danielle is concern after the yearbook calls them good girls.

The girls are nice enough. The misadventures could be wackier. There is some fun in the embarrassments. This is farting I can get behind. It has a bit too much higher stakes drama and not enough comedy. I do like the ice cream solution but I would call it icy fire. This is fine but it's really only a lesser Booksmart. It needs more comedy to get it to a passable level.

Sadly overshadowed by everything in 2018

I saw this two years later in 2020, it is funny, entertaining, well written and well produced. The sad thing is it will be buried along with other films no one heard of that were released in 2018. The first thing that came to mind was "Good Girls Get High" is so similar to "Book Smart", a really fun and exceptional movie from 2019 that ironically enough was overshadowed that year as well. This movie seems a little more on the indie side with its production budget. The basic plot is two teen best friends overachievers get labeled "Good Girls" in their year book and one of them get offended by the bland title so she convinces her best friend to try to have fun like the rest of their high school before they graduate next week, the craziness ensues.

Even though "Good Girls Get High" is little far fetched on some of the plot points, it's a fun, likeable film. Is it the best film in it's genre? No, but there a so many terrible teen coming of age movies out made all the time in the US alone and this is not one of them. If you like this genre and don't want an over the top Hollywood teen movie with some substance, this will do.

What a total snorefest.

Turned this off after 9 minutes of nothing happening. You can see where it's going to go. Boring movie with boring people. Skipped forward and she's still talking to the camera, blah was charged with blah blah. It makes no sense. One year book headline and suddenly they're going to go and do drugs. Then they do irresponsible things because they're such noobs. It's a stupid movie with idiot girls. People that do drugs at high school are the ones that drop out. Being called good girls is a good thing. Know who you are be happy with that person.

Funnier than expected. Not a bad debut for the actors. I would watch it again.
