When Alice confronts the townspeople and mine security men, she holds them by pointing her Henry Rifle threatening to kill the Security leader. the Henry is a tube-magazine lever action repeater. A brass 'follower' rides, with the spring, along a slot in the magazine. This allows the shooter to depress the spring (forward to the muzzle) for loading the magazine. When the rifle is fully loaded the 'follower' would be all way up to the muzzle of the weapon, and retreat to the action as each shell is shot and ejected. When Alice bears the rifle, the follower is all the way back at the action, a clear sign the weapon is not loaded. Anyone in the circumstances portrayed in the series would see and know this weapon isn't loaded.
Roy Good speaks in the actors own English accent when Frank Griffin is sitting with the boy over the dead horse.
