The human impact on the seas was never greater, notably in environmental issues. Fishing quota are vital, a long term insurance, but lacking in half the fishing grounds. The greenhouse problem is already changing climate, affecting especially certain marine biotopes, polar zones but also coral reefs, which are especially vulnerable and vital. Dumping waste keeps increasing, with new worries about micro-plastics, fragmentarized artificial materials. yet there is hope due to growing awareness, initiatives and discoveries.
