Daisuke Miura, although not particularly celebrated, is one of the most interesting filmmakers working in Japan today. The fact that he frequently writes his own scripts, which occasionally are based on his own stage plays, but most of all, that he also deals with erotic movies are definitely among the elements that make him stand out. Furthermore, that in an industry like the Japanese, where nudity, particularly of women actors can be a huge issue, he manages to have big names in his cast adds to his whole ‘legacy'. Before the rather successful “Call Boy” which featured names like Tori Matsuzaka and Ami Tomite, he managed to come with another erotic movie, “Love's Whirlpool”, featuring Sosuke Ikematsu, Mugi Kadowaki, Tasuku Emoto and Hirofumi Arai. Let us see what it is all about.

In the manga world, Masashi Kishimoto is deemed a legend. Most of his fame and popularity came from his magnum opus, Naruto, which stands as a pillar of the Shonen Jump manga community. The series and the manga creator have inspired many other mangakas and truly prospered the name of the Shonen genre all over the world.

However, many Kishimoto and Naruto fans won’t know this, but the manga creator initially rejected the Shonen Jump, and because of this, he decided to shift over to the Seinen genre. Naruto, one of the Big Three in the world of anime and manga, has clear inspiration from another legendary franchise. In fact, Masashi Kishimoto himself admitted that it was Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball that taught him some of the most important basics of creating a manga.
After all, Toriyama was a living legend during his reign and you can’t help but fall under his influence.

When the Dragon Ball franchise came out with the news that the new phase of the series, Dragon Ball Super, would be illustrated by Akira Toriyama’s prodigy, Toyotarou, fans were a little confused. While Toyotarou’s work gained some appreciation in his initial days, fans were not sure whether he would be able to do justice to the story.

However, he somehow managed to replicate Toriyama’s imagination for Dragon Ball Super in the manga and create one of the most successful Dragon Ball series after Dragon Ball Z. Chainsaw Man’s Nsfw Chapter 167 Might Be Most Unhinged in Shonen Jump History - Main Image
Chainsaw Man ch 167 is perhaps its most Nsfw and unhinged chapter yet, and that’s saying a lot given that this is a Tatsuki Fujimoto manga.
Over the years, fans have been blessed (or rather cursed) with some crazy chapters, but in many ways, this latest one is perhaps the most unexpected and memorable one.
In terms of what happened, it’s not a chapter filled with traditional action. Instead, it features an eight-page stretch that, while devoid of dialogue, is quite a tough read.
Spoiler Warning: This article includes spoilers for Chainsaw Man, so proceed with caution.

Satoshi Kon, the renowned director of films like Tokyo Godfathers, Paprika, and Perfect Blue, spoke out about women in Japanese media. Most otakus consume a huge amount of anime in their day-to-day life, often without questioning the realism of the characters.
Many Shonen manga come under fire for their unrealistic portrayals of women, and often these go hand in hand with subpar opportunities. Thus, Satoshi Kon’s belief about female characters could be considered a fresh perspective on the matter.

Satoshi Kon has always gone against the “moe” characters (characters that illicit feelings of affection) in his works. The female characters he has portrayed in his movies are strong and self-reliant. In fact, they are often pushed towards dangerous situations.

The Straw Hat Pirates might be the strongest crew in One Piece, but they are not perfect. Especially the Swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates, Roronoa Zoro. He might look like a character any of the crew members can depend on, but he has a few flaws that may reflect badly on his character but essentially make him human.

Keisuke Itagaki did something unexpected when creating Baki Hanma. The series took off like no other, establishing itself as one of the best sports mangas ever. The smooth display of martial arts through both the manga and the anime has fans gripped for decades now. A story that started with the protagonist wanting to become the best in his field, surpassing his own father.

That is not an uncommon trope. Food Wars and Fairy Tail both have similar motivations. In fact, most anime like One Piece, Haikyuu!! and My Hero Academia is driven by the thought of becoming the strongest in their traits. In many ways, all of them stand individually despite their similarities. One plot hole that stands in Baki Hanma, although minor, has a lot to do with Yyujiro Hanma, the protagonist’s father.

Anime is all but defined by the action shonen genre in the eyes of the general public. Much like the box office used to be dominated by superhero movies, the biggest anime tend to be action shonen shows about teenage boys awakening some big power and using the magic of friendship to overcome challenges. This can be a problem when reducing the medium to a single genre for newcomers. Still, after you watch a few shonen, you realize that the ones that stand out and become phenomena are those that take those formulas and tropes and make them their own.
One such anime is "Black Cover," studio Pierrot's adaptation of Yūki Tabata's manga of the same name. The story is set in a world where everyone can use magic, and we follow a boy named Asta who was born without magic — but instead with anti-magic abilities — who nevertheless wants...

When the Hell’s Paradise anime dropped in April 2023, no one knew that the anime was going to become one of the Dark Trio anime series, along with the likes of Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man. In April 2024, Naoya Matsumoto’s Kaiju No. 8 anime series hit the screens, and for the first time in years, fans believed that they might have found something unique. The series was quite different from a basic Shonen series as it did not follow the stereotypical anime tropes and introduced a new angle with the help of its protagonist, Kafka Hibino.
Kafka Hibino – Kaiju No. 8
Kafka defied every rule that is followed by a main character in a Shonen series, and this was a good thing as it made fans believe that Kaiju No. 8 might be on to something. When Kaiju No. 8 debuted in April 2024, fans had a lot of expectations from the series, as the series was already successful in the manga industry. Eventually, the anime series lived up to its expectations and became one of the best action anime series of the current year. However, Kaiju No. 8 brought with it a new twist, which is not often seen in the anime world.
Kafka – Kaiju No. 8
The twist was introduced through the protagonist of the series, Kafka Hibino. Kafka was a cleaner for Monster Sweeper Inc., but he always wanted to join the Defense Force to eradicate the Kaiju, or “monsters,” that have infested the world and are wreaking havoc. But later on, he himself becomes a Kaiju, and the story becomes more and more interesting.
The twist that Kafka brought with him was that he defied the physical stereotypes of the Shonen main character.

But later on, he himself becomes a Kaiju, and the story becomes more and more interesting.
The twist that Kafka brought with him was that he defied the physical stereotypes of the Shonen main character.

Goku might be one of the strongest Shonen protagonists, with enough power to blow up planets, but he is majorly lacking in another walk of life. While he is a strong and reliable fighter in Dragon Ball, his skills as a parent and husband are doubtful.
Goku’s Saiyan rival from the same franchise is much better at parenting than he is. Akira Toriyama always nerfs Vegeta in battles, but he is a loving husband to Bulma and a stellar father to Trunks and Bulla.
As it turns out, Goku’s shocking ignorance of his children stems from his Saiyan identity.

Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball series has been popular on the basic formula of featuring epic fights, lots of training, a gripping story, and some fan theories, that will get you hooked on the show. With rich storytelling and complex characters, featuring Saiyans and different life forms, often leading to interesting fan theories.
Broly in Dragon Ball Super: Broly
Toriyama-Sensei has given much thought to the creation of each of his characters, or else people would not have been addicted to the show for 38 long years. One of the mythic fan speculations of the show is the Genetic Mutation Theory revolves around the Saiyans. Ironically, this theory revolves not around Gohan but a new character, who made his way into the Dragon Ball canon in 2018. If the theory turns out to be true, then, he would surpass Kakarot and The Prince of All Saiyans with ease.

Often, the special ingredient behind a successful villain is a tera-jerker backstory. You can see it in My Hero Academia (Shigaraki), Naruto (Itachi Uchiha), and many other hit anime. Yet, Tite Kubo managed to create one of the biggest anime villains with absolutely no backstory.
Aizen, the slimy (and handsome) antagonist of Bleach, has conquered innumerable hearts. But how? Tite Kubo never gave him a proper backstory. No one knows why he has an evil mentality. Worst of all! You can’t even tell if you should sympathize with him or not. Turns out Kubo never gave much of an explanation for his intentions on purpose.

Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto is one of the most popular Shonen Series that features a number of iconic female characters, such as Kurenai, Mei Tarumi, Ino Yamanaka, Konan, and many more. However, two characters stand out, particularly in the series, it is none other than Hinata Hyuga and Sakura Haruno.

While fans of the series immensely love the former character for her looks and attributes and how she treats our protagonist, they hate the latter for the same. The hate for Tsunade Senju’s apprentice is the most extreme of all anime characters. It looks like Kishimoto-san has chosen his favorite female character out of the two, as he prefers the Byakugan princess over a strange reason that the medical ninja can not change.

Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn is often considered one of the best non-canon Dbz films. The film captivated the audience with its thrilling action sequences, with a gripping narrative that followed the epic fusion of Goku and Vegeta, the two iconic characters from the series, creating one of the strongest and coolest characters, Gogeta.

Eiichiro Oda’s magnum opus One Piece stands as a monumental figure in the anime and manga industry for featuring a rich and captivating story with vibrant characters with a mysterious past. Oda-Sensei’s world has been ravaged by pirates on the hunt for the legendary treasure which happens to be the same name as the show. It has been 27 years since the first chapter of the Shonen series which was published in 1997, none has managed to find it.
