Life has no safe word

Watched this film with only a very vague memory of the actual events back in 2010. There are many words that spring to mind whilst watching this; intriguing, shocking, moving, sensual and erotic, but ultimately the two most descriptive words I can think of is uplifting and hopeful in this documentary. It was great to see how Ira dealt with such a sudden and shocking event in the height of her Dominatrix career, and her subsequent transformation into an almost completely (although there are similarities) different lifestyle. It is a shame she has based herself so far away as I could certainly use some spiritual life lessons from her.

Beat, Pray, Love...

Beautifully crafted and thoughtful feature-length documentary which humanises and contextualises the story of a professional dominatrix whose world was blown apart when a death on her premises became a national scandal, almost ruining her in the process. For all its larger-than-life spanky, shiny shenanigans, it's the love and courage and humour that Ira and her family and friends have in spades that stays with you.

Excellent

Have to say ,I know ira and Darren the director and most of the cast , I knew of the events as they happened, I've worked in broadcast tv for thirty years and seen some aweful low budget movies , I was not expecting much from this as I felt it would only interest a limited market , so watched with a very critical eye , I was however really impressed ,it's beautifully filmed and crafted , gives a great on-site into the world of fetish , that I know really well , and great insight into a truly amazing person, ira , I learnt things about her I never knew despite being in her company a number of times , full marks to the way this event was portrayed and handled , best to buy the DVD as the extras and bonus features are worth a watch . Maybe I'm biased but I would of been the worst critic but can't find fault . Only critique I could put , was it needs a film classification to get a wider audience ,and a good review on the front cover from a trash tabloid and good broadsheet to appeal and educate a wider audience .

A stirring example of how to stare back in the face of adversity
klrpaperwork15 January 2018
Having not read the headlines in the press at the time of the incident, i sat down to watch the film with a completly unbiased opinion of the story. Having now scene the film, i only have one bias - that is, our true friends are those who stick with us when the chips are down and help pick up us again.

This film is well balanced and researched exmple of a feature length documentary. It does not judge the receivers or givers of pleasure and only focuses on the facts and the humanity of the people concerned.

It is a true testament to the love of a family, circle of friends and an overwhelming sense of dertmination that make one realise anything is possible.

The truth wins out

Fascinating film telling the true story of a tragic event for all involved. Really the media should be ashamed of themselves. I can't imagine what it must have felt like to be so wrongly judged. Thankfully Ira has finally been able to put the record straight and she chose the right man in Darren. Definitely worth a watch.

All You Need is Love

This tightly-constructed documentary uses Ira's own narration to create a perspective which allows us to see her world from her own point of view, while enthusiastically objectifying its latex-clad subject. The cinematography is consistently sharp and inventive and includes a series of beautifully lit, erotically-charged scenes that would make Helmut Newton proud.

Great greetings from Tom to Ira Jampo Lhamo and her family
tdtpotter23 October 2021
Woww what a Fantastic Film turned into a incredible series of stories of true bdsm events (Documentary Dairy of the planet the most famous and popular person known as Ira Jampo Lhamo ) I have seen the Film and it really inspired me to learn more about Bdsm and the prettiest things that their is to know about Bdsm and to learn in the future about Bdsm. I was disappointed and Shocked to see the local press had destroyed and ruined the whole life of Ira Jampo Lhamo by accusing her of horrible feeling and things like murder and death. Because even since I was younger. Ira as indeed inspired me with her incredible joy and happiness.

Love Tom Potter

P. S. I think this is the Truthful meaning of Bdsm lifestyle to inspire young people to become more involved and creative with building relationships support People like Ira Jampo Lhamo and many others in the world who have been hugely hurt or destroyed by bdsm.

This documentary shows to us a great exemple how to find the right ballance in our lives, even when we are stucked in a hard situation. Ira didnΒ΄t give up and she found a way to the bright future again. After a tough life exam she looks very happy now. DonΒ΄t hesitate and watch this close insight into personal life of excellent mother and one of the best dominatrix ever. Ira will be a Goddess for me forever.

Great film, production and story! Inspirational and authentic

Warning: Spoilers
I sat in the dark contemplating why this story made me cry so much and what I understood from it. Besides the obvious that I sometimes feel a prisoner in my own "castle" creating a world inside because I don't want to deal with the one outside, I also realised...Trauma is life changing.

This film is a real and genuine story of self discovery and self transformation. We have many selves and non at all. We don't have to be alone in life. There is always a way out, there is always another way of life, neither is good nor bad but what's right at that time. As hippy as this may sound from me, I see in this film that everyone is exactly where they are meant and deserve to be. All the bondage in the world can not restrain the soul but we can not deny our body's desires. Balance, yoga in the mornings and latex in the evening πŸ˜ˆπŸ–€β›“

My journey was in reverse, I started off with yoga, Buddhism, month long meditation retreats in India for years to eventually reach latex... "latex" to "simply" put it.

I love this film! πŸ–€πŸ™πŸΌπŸ€˜πŸΌπŸ–€
