I actually liked it better than the original
aprilsfriendorin16 October 2018
If you've seen 13 Cameras (the original) and you didn't hate it, then you'll find this one tolerable as well. I actually enjoyed this film more than the original movie. There are definitely engaging moments that keep you on the edge of your seat, and Gerald is as disgusting as ever. This one focuses more on the stalker elements than the original did, which I liked. Overall, it's not the best horror movie out there, but it's certainly not the worst.

Good sequel with some suspenseful moments.
mudvayne-9024531 October 2018
I don't think this movie deserves the low 1 and 2 scores it has been given. This movie has decent suspense and is a good follow on from the first one.

Its not going to be everyones cup of tea because its creepy in an uncomfortable sort or way. I enjoyed it. Sticks in my mind a bit given its about hidden cameras it's unnerving.

Why didn't they just spit the rags out?!
Masonstanfield27 July 2019
Not the worst movie ever, but put some effort in to your work. Why wouldn't those girls just spit the rags out. Anyway, that pretty much sums up this one. Everything happens for NO reason.

Um editors, where are you?

Warning: Spoilers
So I'm game for all sort of thrillers but seriously get an editor who can make sure there aren't gaps in the story. What happened to the first couple? Where did jogger lady come from as that was just random. Overall this sucked pretty bad.

Like Night Trap without the musical numbers... or vampires... or traps.
juliankennedy2314 December 2018
14 Cameras: 4 out of 10: In the direct sequel to 13 Cameras our creepy stalker guy kidnaps some women and spies on an average family on vacation. That's it really.

The Good: First of all this is not a found footage film. Thank God. It really would have been surprisingly easy to imagine this as such, so let us all be thankful that at least the filmmakers didn't do that.

In addition, my wife liked this film. She isn't asking for the 4k Ultra Bluray release for Christmas or anything but she genuinely enjoyed it to the point that she asked if we could watch the first one. She doesn't like horror movies as a rule. She does like true crime thrillers, however. And she is turning into one of those white suburban women who is convinced that there are swarthy men in vans looking to kidnap them from Sephora. I can see this as a film that feeds into various suburban paranoia about vacation rentals and Airbnb.

The Bad: I know this is a matter of taste to a point but lead bad guy Neville Archambault just doesn't do it for me. Don't get me wrong he is grade A creepy. But that is all he is. He isn't particularly frightening and he isn't entertaining. He is kind of dull.

Speaking of dull, our victims are dull as dishwater. I know that we are supposed to seeing a regular family (husband, wife, daughter, son, and daughter's female college friend) spend a week in a nice house in the middle of nowhere. But good lord these people are dull, their vacation is dull (they do nothing and go nowhere.), and the "drama" is dull. I am not saying they should be the Lannisters but who would watch these people on purpose?

There are also some kidnapped girls outside the family but their origin story is basically botched and I have no idea why they were kidnapped or who they are? They only seem to be there to reinforce the fears of the Suburbian housewife views. They are not there for any exploitation mind you.

In fact, god forbid if anyone is exploited in a voyeur and kidnap horror movie. The only nudity is a dull brief shower scene with the daughter while our murdering, kidnapping, voyeur bad guy never actually molests any of his women. To put this in perspective 14 Cameras has the same amount of nudity as the Molly Ringwald/ John Hughes comedy Sixteen Candles and actually less rape.

The Ugly: The dad in the movie was an easy lead as the worst actor/ written character of the bunch... well until the patrol officer showed up at the end to ham it up so awful it takes you right out of the film.

A lot of the movie consists of our bad guy doing the kind of filler that used to be in the Jackass movies between stunts (I dare you to use this toothbrush) with the rest of the cast more unwilling Fear Factor contestants than actual characters.

In conclusion: We have all had the experience where we were skeeved out by a less than clean hotel room. If you want to relive that in the dullest manner possible this is your film.

Creepy level 10+ Makes me never want to rent a vacation rental ever again! Mouth breather was off the charts psycho. I will watch 13 Cameras next, enjoyed this creepiest but kind of ashamed to admit it.

Entertaining
freeman-5619 November 2018
Acting is ok, movie kept me entertained. Not sure about all the bad reviews. Sure it's not a masterpiece by any means, but generally speaking when you pick a movie out like this you shouldn't be expecting supburb acting and plot. People just looking for reasons to complain.

I didn't do anything.

Warning: Spoilers
The long awaited sequel to "13 Cameras" has finally arrived and boy, I can't await for the next one....sorry about that spoiler and sarcasm.

Our near protagonist and creep, Gerald (Neville Archambault) places cameras in a rental home and allows people to pay to spy on the unsuspecting family. He also sells things like girl's panties, sneaking into the home. In a subplot, he has a couple of women who discovered him locked up in an underground shelter. He has the young. son of one of the captives live with him.

There is a family of four, plus Danielle (Amber Midthunder) who is being watched.

This is your basic creeper cam stuff. Gerald is starting to grow on me.

If You are into the Dark Web, watch "Unfriended: Dark Web"
politehere15 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I'm a horror movie fan and I won't make it long. This movie is so bad that it's not even worth downloading for free.Terrible acting, uninteresting characters, lame villain, stupid story, you name it. Have I seen worse? You bet, but it doesn't mean this movie is worth watching. Just skip it and watch something else. I give it two stars, only because I managed to sit through it, although I deeply regret doing it.

If you find the concept of the Dark Web interesting, watch "Unfriended: Dark Web", which is a clever and thrilling movie.

Avoid at all costs
pnkstr27 July 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Being violently ill is a much more pleasurable experience than watching this piece of garbage. This has to be one of the most ridiculous movies I have ever seen. There is nothing thrilling to this movie and the only horror is the extremely implausible story. The baddie sounds like he has a permanent cold, terrible acne and a limp which means he can only shuffle around at a snails pace. Despite this and his seemingly old age it appears that no-one is able to overpower him or even escape. The story is so bad that it is completely unbelievable the characters wooden and uninteresting. As to the guy on the "dark web" who offered $5000 for a the girls panties....... Give me a call I got a bra and socks I'd like to sell you.

This movie definitely doesn't not belong in the thriller category and not one shred of horror to it. Its simply dull, bland and one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Do yourself a favor and watch something else, anything else, hell watching paint dry or grass grow would be more rewarding.

Bad in a bad way
tkell3128 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
First, I love the internet. Didnt realize it was a sequel, but saw the "bad guy" and he's pretty unforgettable so looked it up and bam...13 Cameras. Anyway how this mouth breathing freak (looks like a human lizard) escapes notice in his day to day activities is a mystery to me. Anywho, he has a super elaborate set up, is doing his thing when suddenly I realize I'm 57 minutes into this thing and pretty much nothing has happened. We're meeting a bunch of people, he's peeping on everyone, our kidnappee finds out she's not alone and is planning her escape, but it's all so fragmented it seems like nothing is happening. On the plus side it looked good, but didnt have much else going for it.

Not Terrible
morbidlove2119 January 2020
Not really a terrible movie. It's definitely not going down in the annals of film history as a stellar horror movie or a classic film but it's not a bad time. I enjoyed 13 Cameras (its predecessor) as much as this movie and have both the same rating.

The acting is fine, the Slumlord is creepy and unsettling just like in the original. It does make you wonder what all Airbnb type owners may be doing that their clients are unaware of. There's some gore but the majority of this movie leaves the graphic nature of the acts to the viewers imagination.

This series continues to surprise me
jtindahouse30 July 2018
I was a big fan of the original '13 Cameras'. It was a sleeper hit that I didn't really see coming. I thought they might have been pushing it a little by throwing in a sequel, but to my pleasant surprise it was another really high quality edition to the series. The villain was menacing, the victims were interesting (enough) characters and there were some scenes featuring excellent tension.

There are three story-arcs being followed in the film. At first I thought they might have been being too ambitious but it turns out it actually was a really good notion. It meant that no one story felt too stretched and it kept everything feeling fresh and exciting for the duration of the film. Films that try to do too much can sometimes become confusing and lose focus. '14 Cameras' though keeps every thing very coherent by defining characters and locations very well. Needless to say I was very impressed by this film, and while I don't think it's quite as good as the original it is certainly still worth watching.

Absolutely boring, which means the first one is even worse.
Jerique20 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I wanted to say that the only performance worthwhile was done by Neville Archambault who plays the character Gerald.

Gerald is performing live streams of 14 cameras in a vacation home. It's basically the only thing we see during the whole movie. After a brief introduction of the opening couple and the girlfriend getting abducted, a larger family rents the house and Gerald's antics in the house become increasingly disturbing. He goes from messing with toothbrushes and drinking from milk cartons to sniffing underwear and stealing clothes.

However, I fail at suspending disbelief at this old man keeping a woman hostage twenty some odd years since he walks around like a turtle and breathes heavily. I have a hard time thinking this man can overpower anyone. I spent a majority of the film bored out of my mind. This film doesn't go anywhere. There is no substance, there is no plot, there is nothing scary, no jump-scares, no action. This film sits around waiting for it to happen. If this film is any indication, it's clear that I don't need to watch 13 Cameras to know that this is what I'll see with some different faces.

I am definitely going to be more cautious when it comes to looking for BnB vacation spots in the future, but all in all this is a film much like Bug (2006) that fails to become anything worth watching. It never establishes a plot to interest the viewer and to call it a horror film is an insult to horror genre.

I wouldn't ask anyone to ever waste 90 minutes on this.

Not as good as the original, but good enough
ParallelFalchion25 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I watched the first one, and I thought it was great. I don't do well with gore, so suspense is more up my alley. When my friend and I saw that there was a sequel, we immediately ditched our movie searching and began watching this. And, well... it was okay. The beginning, with that couple was somewhat random, but I suppose the point of it was to remind the audience (or drive it in, because this could be mistaken for a standalone film) how disgusting, creepy, and malevolent the Slumlord is. Soon after, we're introduced to a woman that has fallen under his trap, renting out a house located in the middle of nowhere. The Slumlord enters, kills her dog, and kidnaps her, bringing her to an underground chamber where the wife from the last movie is also being kept. Their contrasting personalities and small conflict on escaping is great, since they both have pretty convincing points. Eventually, they both decide on getting out. Between these events, ANOTHER family rents a house. (Jeez, has no one reported any of these victims missing?) And... they're pretty obnoxious. Except for the dad. (Props to him for being smart) Also, can I point out the mom's inconsistent character? When they first settle in, the parents find a foul-smelling bag of fast food, and one of them thinks it's still okay to consume. That's the mom, who is apparently a germaphobe? Anyways, at some point, the son, mother, and father, are out to dinner, leaving the two worst characters alone, who are two teenage girls. They get attacked, blah blah blah. Honestly, I can't go into much more detail because the POVs are scattered. Every subplot gets equal amount of time, but I can't summarize everything, so here's some notable things: WARNING: EXTREME SPOILERS 1. The woman who owned the dog and was kidnapped SHOT the Slumlord. Good on her. 2. Seeing the wife from the last movie was such a pleasant surprise. 3. The Slumlord survived getting RUN OVER by a car. Finally, THE KID. THE KID WAS THE BEST PART. I WAS ROOTING FOR HIM THE ENTIRE MOVIE. There were parts when it seemed like he would become like his "father", BUT HE DIDN'T. Overall, the movie was okay. It didn't live up to the greatness of the last movie, but it did well with keeping suspense, and it kept me from turning it off. I recommend it, if you liked the first movie.

I Can't Believe I Watched The Whole Thing
clintstevens30 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The premise of this suspense flick could have made a good movie, but it wasn't. The only 'horror' to be seen here is the grotesque main character who limps, drools and sniffs undies. Not to sound like a perv, but there was no nudity (save afor a short clip of an extra in the shower); you'd think that a movie about a hidden camera voyeur whould show a little skin. And don't get me started on the ending. I don't usually add spoilers, but I am tired of films where the bad guy gets away, only to show up elsewhere (this time, south of the border with a van full of tied up women) to continue his crimes. Can we say 'another sequel' boys and girls? The movie deserves one star, but I'll give it an extra one since I did watch the whole thing...and I'm sorry I did.

...says it all really! Crazy, crude, grusome rollercoaster of a movie, not for the faint hearted that's for sure!! Quite enjoyed it though, especially the claymation scene which took me by suprise, just when I thought the film had suprised me enough already!!! Bit of a disappointing ending but then I didn't really want it to end. I'd definitely recommend this to fans of obscure British horror movies- who would've thought that Paddy from Emmerdale had such a twisted sense of humour!

Great watch but too many unanswered questions!
babicazza26 January 2019
This film had so much potential for the first hour but after that it failed. Ending annoyed the hell out of me as you never got to find out what happened to the victims! The drama only started 10minutes before the film ended. Such a bad ending. I saw a lot of potential in it from the start though. Such a shame.

I Can't Believe This is A Sequel
jburtonprod-802-75902915 December 2018
As crappy as this movie is I can't believe there was another like it made before. The acting isn't very good. The story is predictable. It's just odd. The movie does manage to create some suspense but with the setup, if you can't guess what's coming, you've never watched a movie before. I felt this was a colossal waste of my time. Please, no more. This 'only happens in a movie' premise was probably played out halfway through the first movie that I will avoid like the plague.
