- When king Alfred hears about the arrival of the sons of Ragnar, with an army he must take drastic action. So as the Vikings army makes camp & lies in wait, Alfred and his army abandon the royal villa and march to meet them.
- Ubbe and the settlers are still drifting on the sea. After a long period, they finally see land. King Harald leaves Erik and Ingrid to rule Kattegat while he sails with Ivar, Hvitserk, and several boats to Wessex. - King Harald assembles the Norwegian fleet to attempt conquering England and appoints Erik the acting king in his place, with Erik having the last say over co-regent Ingrid. After the fleet sails, Erik expect Harald never to return and already wants to take his throne as King for life and claim Ingrid as his queen and concubine. They start an affair, but after SM-flogging him, Ingrid secretly uses her toxic witchcraft, which soon renders Erik blind. In England, Ivar positions the Norwegian fleet at Eddington, to ravage the countryside so as to lure Alfred to them. A raiding party led by Ivar is attacked by English forces, but saved last minute by Hvitserk. Wessex king Alfred evacuates his capital Winchester while gathering his forces. On the Atlantic, Ubbe's desperately exhausted, dwindling expedition finally spots land, which even looks rich.—KGF Vissers
