One of the best episodes in season 7 so far
Greetings from Lithuania.
"Species Jump" was definitely the most grittiest and involving episodes in season 7 so far. Story moved forward in interesting ways, it was great so Carry and Saul sharing same scene together (like in a good old days). There was a very gritty outcome for one of the characters in this show (no spoilers), it was very dark scene.
Overall, i like season 7 so far despite that in comparison with first 4 seasons this one missed a lot of thing that made Homeland great, nevertheless "Species Jump" is a great entry in a season 7.

They had me going
Paul berenson is a cia chief.
Do you believe he's all alone, counting just on a retired agent w her retired friends?
He's counting on an old Russian retired college expert partner?
Yeah right.
He has at least 50 networks of Carrie Mathisons.
Or maybe, that's real life and is why they caught USA w their pants down on 9/11.

The episode delves deeper into the political and personal consequences of Carrie's investigation, bringing the season's narrative to a boiling point
"Species Jump" delves deeper into the political and personal consequences of Carrie's investigation, bringing the season's narrative to a boiling point. The episode opens with Carrie and her allies closing in on the final pieces of evidence needed to expose the conspiracy. The tension is palpable as they face increased surveillance and the threat of retaliation. Meanwhile, Saul's efforts to build a coalition face significant obstacles, as political alliances shift and new threats emerge. Keane, increasingly isolated, begins to take more drastic measures to protect her administration, leading to a series of dramatic and potentially dangerous actions.
A standout scene is Carrie's climactic discovery of crucial evidence, a moment that is both thrilling and fraught with danger. The suspense is expertly maintained as she navigates a series of obstacles to secure the information. Another memorable moment is Saul's confrontation with a key political figure, where he must use all his diplomatic skills to navigate the treacherous political landscape. Themes of truth, power, and the personal cost of political intrigue are central to this episode, adding depth and complexity to the unfolding narrative.
Directed by Michael Klick, "Species Jump" is a tightly wound and suspenseful episode. The script by Patrick Harbinson is meticulously crafted, blending political intrigue with character-driven drama. The cinematography effectively captures the intensity and urgency of the characters' missions, using tight framing and dynamic angles. Editing is precise, particularly in the high-stakes action sequences and moments of revelation, ensuring a smooth and engaging flow. The pacing is well-executed, balancing fast-paced action with quieter, introspective moments. The episode's primary strength lies in its ability to maintain high tension while deepening the characters' arcs, though some plot points may feel slightly contrived.
Overall, these episodes of Homeland's seventh season effectively blend political intrigue with personal drama, providing a rich and compelling narrative. The direction, script, and performances are consistently strong, ensuring that the series remains engaging and thought-provoking. The exploration of themes such as power, trust, and the personal cost of political maneuvering adds depth and complexity to the unfolding story, making these episodes a standout entry in the series.

Carrie show.
Love the Initial concept of the show, started out ok, but then it's turned into the Carrie show. She's predictable and with her shifty eyes and bull headed "I can do it myself" attitude made me not finish the series.
