Good Short
Bartholemew (1983)
*** (out of 4)
Effective six-minute short film has a mother (Bette Kintaer) constantly yelling at her son Bart (Larry Bandelloni) who at first takes it well but before long his mind begins to breakdown. This here is an early short film from Gorman Bechard who of course would make a name for himself with PSYCHOS IN LOVE. For the most part this was a well-made short and it certainly helps that it was shot in B&W. I really thought the director did a nice job at showing this man's breakdown. I won't ruin the finale but it was nicely done and also benefited from the two actors doing fine work. This certainly wasn't ground-breaking but it did have a surreal feel to it.
