Richard Roeper - Host: And here, I thought "Dumb and Dumberer" was going to be the worst Jim Carrey-free sequel I'd see in my life. Believe it or not, "Son of the Mask" is even worse.
Roger Ebert - Host: You know, it isn't even anything like the original. The original film, which also involved comic elements and special effects, had a kind of grandeur to it and a kind of scale, and a kind of importance. You kind of felt like the mask meant something. Here, it's just a gimmick. There was NOTHING in it that I engaged with or cared about. They're running around, there's a lot of noise and stuff happening on the screen, and who, cares.
Richard Roeper - Host: And Roger, I talked about wanting to walk out of this movie. Some movies are so bad, even "Constantine", I wanted to see where it was gonna go.
Roger Ebert - Host: Yeah, uh-huh.
Richard Roeper - Host: But this, you knew it was just going to be relentless and just keep doing the same thing over and over.
Roger Ebert - Host: Just keep going around in circles.
