Pretty fun episode

Just watched this episode and although it was decent and entertaining enough, I feel like the wackiness would've benefited more as an early season episode, maybe even during the time when Finn and Flame Princess were still together. Honestly, the whole tone of it felt really off with other episodes in the final season.

Still, there's nothing too bad about watching a musical episode except with family friendly rap battles instead.

Everyone's rapping nowadays

It seems like episodes of "Adventure Time" are now just games of mad libs. We have Flame Princess rapping with a bear to save her kingdom. See how random that was? I still loved this, if only because it focused on Flame Princess. It's great to see how far she's come with her development. It's funny to see her in casual clothes like this. I just find it informative for them to talk about Open Mic Night. I hope to get into that sort of business myself someday. Anyway, this had very nice buildup as we see more of Flame Princess' father. It's just cool to see more of her kingdom.

I like how they partake in casual things at first. Dang, you'd think they'd be able to see through a disguise that's just a mustache. We even get to see some scenes where they're on actual adventures to try to get experience for rapping. I admit it was odd to do an episode that just ignored Gumbald. Well, he appears in the next episode so maybe this was more of a breather. We can have episodes like that. ***1/2
