Top Tatort Team "Delivers"! - This episode is a true gem!
thursdaysrecords14 September 2017
I'm a regular consumer of the "Tatort" crime drama series, and this episode is a reminder why I keep coming back for more. The team from Vienna, lead by Kommissars "Moritz and Bibi" investigates a suspicious accident near a community of African refugees. - Look for the minor supporting role of the medical examiner, who not only is a very capable expert in his field, but also an absolute treat as the ultra-wise, sarcastic joker who delivers each step of his findings with a dose of macabre humor and poetic comments.

As the story picks up pace, there are frequent references to racism and intolerance aimed at the foreign refugees living among the "native Austrians". It is noteworthy that each time someone expressed bias or hatred toward the culturally different migrants, someone else would stand up to oppose the obvious prejudice. This immediately negates any unfair behavior as unacceptable.

The main conflict of the plot suddenly is not the unsolved murder, but rather an apparent outbreak of the Ebola virus. Although the homicide is explained at the end, the story concludes with a much deeper message: When a plague is no longer confined to "far away Africa" but instead hits the heart of Europe (home), people seem much more interested in finding a cure. - This episode is far above average, and will not disappoint. Highly recommended!
