When show creatives were thinking about ideas for Season 2, they pitched the idea of setting some of the action at a Native American casino. Given the show's location in Connecticut, Mohegan Sun was approached, and management agreed to let Sneaky Pete film onsite. As an additional perk, the casino allowed the show to keep the Mohegan name.
The executive producers said Season 1 was modeled on the "long con" used in movies like The Sting. They decided Season 2 of Sneaky Pete would be about a heist. Of course, this being Sneaky Pete, there would still be plenty of cons, as all good heist stories are full of confidence tricks. They also decided it would be fun to do a heist in a casino but wanted to do one that felt very different from other casino heists such as the one in the movie "Ocean's 11."
The writers liked the idea of Taylor developing an attraction to Detective Roby even though she represents an existential threat to him and his family. Writer and Executive Producer Fred Golan has said of Shane McRae's performance, "It was fun to see him go through all these things that he couldn't talk about in a scene."
The scene at Gina's new coffee shop gig was filmed at Norma's Corner Shoppe in Ridgewood NY.
Maggie demonstrates again in Episode 207 her affinity for telling the truth. Even though Maggie has a history of deception, she is generally a straight-shooter and this is a hallmark of her character.
