Ramblings
It was ramblings with no point. Not clever. Worst attempt at comedy I've ever seen. Even writing this, and knowing he's probably a good guy, I feel bad being so harsh but it made me cringe for 5 min. Then fast forwarded to see if the whole routine was as bad. It was.

If you like crazy this is for you
Just straight rambling. Might be more entertaining if you were tripping balls.

Painfully unfunny
I was redirected to this special after the Patton Oswalt one, and boy do I want my 10 minutes back. Rubin's routine is based on playing a madman spitting nonsense in an incoherent string of word which he nails. If that sounds like something you like - go for it. For me, an hour of furiously screaming nonsense by someone who clearly overindulged on hard drugs back in his prime was just... overwhelming.

Just not funny, unfortunately
Guy coming on stage, screaming nonsensical things for 52 minutes.
The most honest words come after 12:45 minutes: I don't get it, says the guy pretending to be a comedian.
So true...
And he isn't buttering his cheesecake anymore.

I made it ten minutes, that's how annoying that guy is.
I just did a thing I said I would never do, I gave up after ten minutes into the show (if you can call it that). I normally finish everything that I started watching, just to have a honest opinion but in this case I could't even pass the first ten minutes from this short show. It's starts like apparently Bob Rubin has been absent from the scene for fifteen years (what totally makes sense to me, it's that bad nobody is interested in this kind of garbage) but I never heard from him before. He looks and sounds like somebody that abused some really bad drugs for a long period of time, rambling like a madman about things nobody cares, that was what I witnessed for ten minutes, couldn't take it anymore after that. It's the first time I rate a stand-up comedian with the lowest score possible, and I watch tons of stand-up comedies, enough said. A stand-up comedy should be funny or at least try to be funny, that's why it's called a comedy. Bob Rubin should do everybody a favor and return to whatever he was doing as long as we don't have to see him again.

There is no gray area
Mostly I do not read reviews if I am writing one, but now I see a 1 and a 10. And that is actually what it is. You like it or you don't. There is no grey area. It is funny to read that the people with a 10 cannot understand the ones with a 1.
It is about taste and everybody has a different one. For me this was just shouting a lot and tyring to be absurd but this not the way to do it for me.
I wanted to give a 2 for being unique but to make this as much contrasting as possible, I'll give it a 1 too.

Bob Rubin is a wildman!
Bob Rubin is the highest energy comedian i have ever seen!
He peppers hooks and one liners through what seems like the ramblings of a man who has been to "all the best parties"
Some people might find his style difficult, dark, or a bit absurd, but there is a very active method to his apparent madness.
There was not a moment when I could take my eyes from the screen. Mr Rubin does not let up throughout the entire set.
I will be watching this one again!

I thought he was dead!
Thank god he's alive! The best comedy is polarizing. Rube is a genius, and not for everyone. But me, my wife, and my two Gen Z'rs were crying laughing throughout. We all have that bone. Love Bob. Hope to get a chance to see him live.

Rip Torn meets George Carlin on LSD
This is among the funniest comedy specials I have ever seen. The other people writing reviews have no imagination and no taste for the Absurd (assuming it's still just the three jabronis who gave it 1 star). The genius of Durang and Beckett and Ionesco would be utterly lost on them, they would probably cringe to hear Tom Waits or read any Allen Ginsberg. This is crazed madmen comedy, beautifully written, rife with imagery, and performed by a raving lunatic. This is Comedy for 2020.

I cried laughing!
I have heard of people laughing until tears streamed down their face, but I never experienced that myself, until I watched this special. Bob Rubin is just amazing and there is no way to compare him to any comedian I have watched before. We need more Bob Rubin!!!

One of a kind. Left me wanting more Bob Rubin.
I can see how this kind of humor may be less digestible than most stand up comics gracing the massive and ever growing selections on Netflix. Perhaps the harsh contrast in style to Patton Oswald is why there's so many 1/10 star reviews. People who like their entertainment a bit less audacious would definitely be likely to skip within the first 2 minutes, cursing Patton for even suggesting this nutcase. However, if you are like me and enjoy off beat humor and more abstract comedy such as Aunty Donna as an example, then you'll most likely be entering his name in the search trying to find more material the minute the special is over. After I wiped the tears from my eyes of course. There's comedy gold here, just depends if you're open minded enough to embrace it.

Ignore the simpletons who give this 1 star
This special is like ordering a ride from Uber, getting in the car, and realising the driver has done a few rails. And even worse, he has no intention of driving you to your destination. And he keeps making random stops. But, you can't get out and run away screaming or the ride will be over and you'll be stuck in a weird part of town, terrified and alone. Stick to the end and you'll reap the rewards, because as anyone with half a brain knows, it's not the destination, it's the journey. Or you can stay home and watch Armageddon for the 23th time and pretend you have a fulfilling life. Your call.
