“Law & Order” fans, you have Rob Lowe to thank for the entire franchise. As does Dick Wolf’s bank account. At least, Lowe says this, with his tongue a bit in cheek (but also with some accuracy). As the star of Fox’s “9-1-1: Lone Star” and Netflix’s “Unstable” recently told Variety’s Awards Circuit Podcast, Lowe starred in Wolf’s 1988 feature flop “Masquerade.” It was just the kind of movie disappointment that would have sent Wolf back to TV — and two years later, “Law & Order” premiered. “I remember him saying to me how frustrated he was in the movie business, that he was going to write a pilot,” Lowe said. “And he wrote ‘Law and Order.’ And the rest is history. You’re welcome. Yeah, I’m happy to provide the bomb that powers your rise to dominance.”

The conversation about “nepo babies” has grown tiresome — and not just because “nepo baby” itself is such an unattractive turn of phrase. The general outrage over the idea that children of famous actors find themselves drawn to acting, ginned up by an artfully provocative recent cover story in New York magazine, has tended to elide the simple fact that said children often find themselves acting because they share talents with their parents, who are famous for good reason.
So it is with John Owen Lowe, who seems like a slightly altered carbon copy of his father Rob, with the smarm ironed out. Together, they’re headlining “Unstable,” a new Netflix comedy that’s infuriatingly better than it needed to be. Lowes père and fils share executive producer credits with Victor Fresco and Marc Buckland, two creatives with long comedy résumés. And what might have been expected to look like a...

If Rob Lowe and his sons can investigate the paranormal (R.I.P., The Lowe Files!), what’s stopping Demi Lovato from doing the same? Absolutely nothing, according to Peacock.
The streamer has ordered Unidentified With Demi Lovato, a four-part unscripted series in which Lovato, her sister Dallas Lovato and her “skeptical” best friend Matthew Scott Montgomery will “investigate recent eyewitness encounters, uncover secret government reports, and conduct tests at known UFO hot spots.”

Just as the members of Ladder 126 are trained to face any number of life-threatening emergencies, so too are the 9-1-1: Lone Star writers willing to tackle any plot-related challenges that befall them. For John Owen Lowe, whose first episode airs tonight (Fox, 8/7c), those challenges include potentially having to write a love scene for his own father.
“I was willing to cross that bridge if it came up,” Lowe admits to TVLine about tonight’s installment. And considering last week’s hour introduced Natalie Zea as Owen’s new love interest, it was a very real possibility. “Fortunately,...

What's the cutest father-son pairing in Hollywood, you ask? Though they have some fierce competition, there's no doubt that Rob Lowe and the younger of his two sons, John Owen Lowe, are major father-son relationship goals. As well as inheriting dreamy blue eyes from his father, John Owen also inherited a passion for acting. He made his big debut in The Lowe Files - where he, his dad, and his brother Matthew explored unsolved mysterious together - and he even had a guest role on Fox's The Grinder (which Rob starred in) as Joel Zadak. His latest project with Rob is Netflix's Holiday in the Wild, and if the new Christmas flick doesn't make you fall in love with this father-son duo, then maybe these pics of Rob and John Owen Lowe together will.

I hear Netflix has given the green light to adventure-romance movie Christmas in the Wild. Sex and the City alumna Kristin Davis is in negotiations and Code Black star Rob Lowe is set to headline the movie, which is scheduled to begin filming in Africa in the next few weeks for a premiere during the 2019 holiday season.
Also cast in the movie, written by Neal Dobrofsky and Tippi Dobrofsky (The Wedding March TV movie franchise) and directed by Ernie Barbarash (A Royal Winter), is Lowe’s son John Owen Lowe.
Said to be in the vein of Eat Pray Love, Christmas in the Wild is set against the backdrop of the elephant poaching and conservation battles in the African wilderness. It centers on a woman (Davis) who, after her longtime husband walks out on her just before a family safari, goes anyway. Arriving in Africa she meets a bush pilot...

Poor Sheryl Berkoff! Famed actor Rob Lowe appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday, May 9, and joked that he sleeps better when he's on the road and not with his wife of nearly 27 years. "I sleep better on the road because I’m not with my wife," he confessed. "People, it’s the truth. I love her enough to speak the truth." He proceeded to tell the funny reason why — she's addicted to playing late-night Family Feud on her iPad! "[She] wakes me up like, 'Honey, honey! Quick, name five foods that are gross,'" he shared. "I’m like, I just want to go to bed." A post shared by Rob Lowe (@robloweofficial) on Jul 22, 2017 at 12:13pm Pdt Rob was just kidding though, as it was previously revealed family is such a priority to The Outsiders star. "Family means absolutely everything to Rob," a friend of the actor...

This week on The Lowe Files, Rob Lowe and his sons Matthew and John Owen head to military testing base the Dugway Proving Ground — which many have called the “new Area 51”. The Us Army facility, which lies in the depths of the Utah desert, was set up during World War 2 in 1942 as a place to test chemical and biological weapons. But some conspiracy theorists believe it may be at the center of a secret space program being carried out by the Us government. The area has a history of UFO sightings and strange incidents linked to...read more...

Rob Lowe heads to the spooky Old State Penitentiary in Boise, Idaho, on this week’s episode of The Lowe Files — and meets a psychology expert to explore his inner fears. The star heads to the former prison, which is famous for carrying out executions by hanging, with son John. The hangings used to take place in an area which is now a rose garden, with six of the 10 executions that took place at the prison being carried out there. The Old Idaho State Penitentiary first opened its gates to convicts in 1872 and was a working prison for more...read more...

Rob Lowe and his sons investigate what some claim is an underwater “alien base” on this week’s episode of The Lowe Files. The submerged anomaly lies six miles off the coast of Malibu, California, and has recently been the subject of renewed debate after satellite images of it emerged on Google Earth. The vast area, measuring 2.5 miles wide, has a large flat top and when viewed from above has a clear oval shape. Underneath are what look like giant pillars stretching down the sides. The anomaly was discovered in the 1970s and geologists say it is natural and part...read more...
