I've really enjoyed this series. This episode in particular was hillarious. I never figured out how his blood got there in the cabin since he never was there. I assume that the husband's girlfriend at the prison got it from the infirmary. It was never explained.

Warning: Spoilers
If this show had silly characters, witty dialog and or funny situations for the comedy, but a good plot and believable characters I would have liked it. However ep 2 and 3 show that instead the humor must come from the main characters being idiots. Police procedures and proper investigation or even common sense have nothing to do with the script writing.
I personally found it cringe worthy and annoying. The first episode was ok and looked promising, but I'm gonna give up on this show after this one. I watched the last two episodes with speed increased to over 2x (I have a chrome addon that allows speedup of html5 videos) just to get the episode over with.

Problems:
- Main guy was suddenly headstrong in this episode and went with the simplest solution to the crime without looking at all people involved. Afaik it's normal procedure to investigate everyone who's involved in a murder, even if there seems to be an obvious culprit. A husband who inherits millions would be looked into.
- What was the writer thinking with the whole blow up the house by turning the stove on? That's impossible cause cause won't flow unless a flame is heating the bi-metal safety system. Flame goes out, gas stops. Everyone who ever operated a gas stove or oven knows that.
- The father (Tony Danza) is supposed to be an ex-cop turned bad (guilty of white collar crime) who used to be very good at his job. Sofar he's just been portrait as a buffoon with the brain capacity of a lobotomized chimp.
