Luo Bao Bei is an episodic styled childrens show that just follows the adventures of Luo Bao Bei and her 2 friends, Timmy the guy and Faye the embarrassing drama queen. The show also has some funny bits with these 3 baby chickens and the rest of the family. Generally speaking, this cartoon is VERY accurate to asian representation. (With the exception of chill parents). The grandma always feeds LBB and the grandpa always listens to his radio (which is technically a form of political representation, but is rightfully vague). Apart from that, it also deals with real like problems that a kid usually goes through, like "oh no, Faye is dressing like me, shes getting a bit too much" and such. It teaches some fine lessons along the way and as a kids show, I think it does great in that aspect.

Macaroni and Cheese

It's plain and cute, like a fried bologna sandwich made by grandma. It's not gourmet, but you enjoy it anyway.
It's good like Mom's spaghetti. The way Luo giggles in the english dub (a VERY well done dub with clear dialogue) is adorable. Her friends are adorable. Pink Bear and Mao Mao are adorable. Uncle Rei is adorable. Grandma and Grandpa are adorable. The sound design is...a certain "A" word that I can't currently recall that rhymes with adorable. Yes, it's audible. It also sounds adorable.
How many "A"s do I have to give it before it passes my class??
Wait, maybe this IS gourmet. The subtle layers and textures, the hints and flavors, the high saturation, "sunny day" aesthetic, and the complete absence of political agenda, forced inclusivity, or violent subject matter make it a sort of perfect souffle or precisely peppered comfort food.
It's as if a master made me a grilled cheese, or some sort of genius macaroni with secret ingredients that make my mouth water.
It's simple, and on the surface seems mindless, but unlike Teletubbies, there is no creepiness to it or off-putting subliminal messages.
It's beyond perfect. It's super-perfect.
