Unexpected shocking ending ,, which made the series look even greater.
Aktham_Tashtush7 January 2018
The show with its one and only series just showed that Channel 4 has strong potentials, and the fact that this is not the first show picked by Netflix (after Black Mirror) is proving my point.

The plot of the show revolves around a psychotic British teenage Bonnie and Clyde go on a series of crimes escaping their miserable lives and through the 8 episodes you start to fight these feelings of should i be more compassionate about this as the police themselves face the same dilemma.

The screenplay was so tight and fast with a taste of dark sad comedy , it really drag you into how the brains of these two teenagers work in a fascinating complicated way.

The cast was just a perfection,, i first watched Alex Lawther in Black Mirror and he was amazing, perfecting the nervous anxious guy who can easily be dragged into chaos, he's still young but he reminds me of James McAvoy so much,, as for Jessica Barden "Alyssa" she is so talented as well, and the couple did an amazing job.

Final thought, The show "supposedly" ended in a vague way ,, so far there are no news of renewal , in the contrary , it suppose to be finished,, but i don't know yet why Netflix would pick up a cancelled show and still no news of production ,, but maybe they want to see the audience response !! who knows!

Recommended show ,, 3 fantastic hours ;)

Brilliant Ending
jarrodmcdonald-6755021 April 2019
I'm rewatching this in anticipation (celebration) for the imminent second season. The finale is a perfect ending I'm seeing. They screenwriters blended perfectly surprisingly elements without ever overreaching the characters. It could have been a neat bundle after one season - though I am immensely glad I'm not, it has made the wait easier. Still there is so much further to explore in this world.

As much of the series as relied on the events of this isolated world of two fugitives I am glad the ending continued with just that. It has not needed grandiose moments but has absolutely nailed the details. That's what makes this episode a brilliant and powerful resolve

Epic ending, James is the coolest
LorenBieg2 February 2018
This series is one of the best I've seen in recent years. It bears comparison to Breaking Bad and other shocking crime dramas, though with a highly effective dark comedy spin and visibility into the characters' thoughts as a storytelling device.

James and Alyssa are masterfully acted by Alex Lawther and Jessica Barden. Execution is perfect throughout. The dark comedy is laugh out loud funny at times. And boy is it dark. Blood splattering dark. James' journey from self-proclaimed psychopathy to who he is at this point in the story is entertaining and surprisingly resonant, especially in this episode.

My only complaint is the series was too short! I was happy to read that it's been renewed for a second season. Highly recommended!

Teenagers problems
AvionPrince1611 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I mean the episode was pretty tense and we see a discussion about James , Alyssa and her father . The discussion that they have can relate to all teenagers and some problems with their parents . I like the episode and found it pretty interesting in the themes that they talk about. Finally Alyssa get caught by the police and James is running to escape the police . The relationship also with James and Alyssa get better and James realise that he cares about Alyssa and have conscience of it . Very nice episode.

The End Of The f***ing World S1: An overrated rebel teenager adventure.
edicionccq29 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Two teenagers, James (Alex Lawther) who is 17 and is pretty sure he is a psychopath, and Alyssa (Jessica Barden) who is also 17 and is a rebellious teenager who convinces James to run away with her on a search for Alyssa's father.

This show is pretty short. It has only eight episodes of 22 minutes each. The characters are rebel teenagers who want to have an adventure where they escape from their boring lives to find Alyssa's father. Every episode is really interesting, the first two episodes are a teen comedy drama very regular, until the third episode where it finally begin being amazing.

The comedy is very good, and the adventures are full of teen crimes that are pretty entertaining to see. But I feel like the show is a little bit overrated. Most of the people who talk about the show say that is one of the best shows ever. And it makes me feel like I'm overlooking something. The first season is great; it has many good jokes and good moments. The characters are a little bit deep. You can empathize with James and Alyssa.

I didn't like a little bit how the show makes seem to the audience that being a psychopath or running away is something cute. But maybe that's just me.

This season gets 7 out of 10. It's a good series about teen run away with the unusual mistakes and troubles they make. The season finale is so epic that makes you believe there's no way they could make a good season... Spoiler Alert... It is possible.

Super Depressing, All Kinds of Effed Up
wildernessbarbie11 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I don't get the entertainment value of watching two really messed up kids screw up their lives even more while interacting with abusive and predatory adults.

The acting is well done, hard to believe the actors are 17, much less 22 and 25. You may feel sorry for each of them at times, but neither are likable in any way. None of the characters are really.

One last note- when one of the characters is running away at the end, presenting no imminent threat to anyone, they are being shot at by police. This is not remotely legal for them to do.

Media really needs to stop normalizing "good" cops doing illegal things, even if it helps them catch the "bad guy." It's NOT OK, it's harmful to law enforcement and civilians alike. If your Cop character can't do their job without breaking the law, then they're a bad cop.
