What if?

A truly fun show if you still believe and have an imagination!!! Very well casted with adorable fairies & elves that very well could be fairies & elves. This series should keep going as they bring in more realms & magical beings. Not to be taken seriously nor should it be criticized as it is just meant to be an escape from our mundane world for a magical world where your imagination gets set free for a short while, enjoy!

Feel good fantasy for Kids
ingolfur_magnusson18 October 2020
My 8 and 11 year old completely loved this. I followed this with them and yes it's silly and quirky but it's quite fun, jolly and fast paced. Allot happening, scenes are short and cutting and editing is frequent but really good. I highly recommend for for Kids from 8 to 80. The message is nice, teamwork, friendship and doing your best. I'm surprised there wasn't a second season.

Something to watch with the kids
ikata-494172 November 2021
Something to watch with the kids. It's cute and fun. The acting is good and the writing is decent, although the musical episode was annoying. The characters have a little depth, especially for a kids show. There isn't much on that appeals to kids that I can stand, so this show fills a niche.

Like it!!
cejvr4 April 2019
I have watched the first episode an was impressed. The acting is good and I'm so glad it's not like other stories in this genre like the potter movies or charmed ect. Make no mistake I like the Harry Potter books and movies but I don't like charmed. This show is funny and light. A real family friendly show.

Warning: Spoilers
This is a nice show for young teens, but pray your kid doesn't resemble Imogen. Her character is the one that makes this show hard to watch.

Cute, Funny And Has Some Originality
nebohr7 February 2023
Well- it's not got Steven Spielberg directing nor does it have DreamWorks animation but it has a high quality and we (our family, my wife, and myself) were, overall, entertained by it.

The actors (including the child actors) were proficient at their craft. The computer graphics were (sorry) poor but, hey, it's Nickelodeon, right?

The reason we can't award our baseline 8-star review is simple. The glaring major plot holes! Our eldest child ( along with the adults ) could spot the major plot holes, and they certainly detracted from the production: The major decree is that humans cannot see magic users. ( But sometimes they can, with no explanation).

Worth to watch!
producer-2416726 February 2019
This show has positive messages and amazing role models for any age. The whole family can enjoy the show, especially children because it;s appropriate for any age and the story-line is amazing. There's no bad language, smoking or drinking. Just pure fun, adventure and magic that kids will fall in love with. This show takes you to a different world of magic hidden amongst humans with fairies and elves that have magical powers and they get into trouble in a fun shown way that;s very enjoyable and likable. This show deserves high ratings and appreciation. It's wonderful!

Nothing's wrong with feelgood 😉
mikedrinan28 April 2022
Light hearted with a healthy feel good factor, this is not meant to be taken seriously! With fantasy the rules can be discarded. Sometimes an escape from reality is a good thing 😉

Gets better and better
warren-8723516 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Okay, this is a kids show, but that doesn't mean the writing or characters are any less well written than material for adults. Much as when I recently watched Stargirl, I found the characters and writing far superior to most of the supposedly great 'adult' shows being made at the moment.

The Bureau of Magical Things progresses and builds surprisingly well, starting with simple, seemingly self-contained stories, which turn out to contribute neatly to an overall story arc and conclusion. I found myself thinking that, if I'd seen this as a kid, it would've been one of my favourites. As it is, my other half and I still enjoyed it, but from the perspective of adults being transported back into the fun, innocence and adventure that we used to feel from children's shows back in the 80s and 90s.

The cast of young actors are great, and far outweigh the plastic, over-polished 'child' actors we get from Hollywood. Their enthusiasm, sense of adventure, and innocent wonder jump off the screen. However, this is not just down to the young actors, but the quality of the writing.

Perhaps the best example is the gentle and gradual reveal of the lead's tragic loss of her mother. Unlike so much lazy writing, that relies on bad stereotypes, she is not acting out with bad behaviour. She's not moping around wearing dark makeup and pushing away her friends and loved ones. Her stepfather is not a horrible, uncaring bully. Instead, she is a thoughtful young teen, still engaging with friends, still living her life, and has a loving relationship with her father, where they care for each other and grieve together in a natural way.

The characters in the show are the kind you would want your children to watch, because they are upstanding, good, moral characters that are great examples for them to see and emulate.

As with Stargirl, it feels odd giving a light, fun kids show a 10/10, but you know what? It deserves it! I just hope they can keep up this quality with series 2.

A Charming Show
hjalsayegh22 February 2021
Took me a few episodes in to figure out what's up with show. It's charming and the acting is decent but for some reason it just doesn't shine.

That's when I got it. Even one is toned down. They act like normal people from the adults being responsible to the teens... well, acting like normal teens.

The music is subtle so you end up with something more down toned . I think you could have have gone more dramatic considering this is a show about magic and directed at kids. As is though it's more under-rated filler than anything special.

Season 2 - HORRIBLE
cmertens-3576822 June 2022
What in the world were you thinking when you decided to turn the show into a musical? Was it the musical episodes in season 1 that got you a season 2? Oh that's right, there are no musical episodes in season 1. Stick to what got you here and keep developing the characters. I am very disappointed with the direction this show has gone.

Parody or Real ?
pato-tobola19 October 2020
I just finished the pilot episode, and I still don't know if this is supposed to be a parody, or an actual series. The casting is meh, visual effects are horrible, the story so far is pretty straightforward with no unnecessary narration or beating around the bush, character development so far is very minimal with linear progress, but I won't complain, since I've only seen 1 episode. Not sure if I'm gonna keep on watching, might give it another chance.

A nice idea, poorly executed.
lemlems-374-91711628 October 2020
Obviously this is aimed at kids so I wasn't expecting anything hugely sophisticated. It's actually a good premise and could have had potential. What let it down for me was the acting. Even accounting for the fact that they're young, the lead actors gave terrible performances so rather than getting carried away with the magic, I spent the whole time cringing. It's a shame because it's a cute idea and could have been a really enjoyable watch.

Good for young children, less enchanting for others...
Tarntarow3 July 2021
The Premise is typical: human see something they're not supposed to, and that, is, of course, magical beings. Confusion and chaos when the human being gets involved.

It seems the writing was purposely scripted for those 12 and under. Unfortunately, the acting is pretty poor, even allowing that it's a silly sorcerer's-apprentice type magical series. All the spells the young people cast don't work (I imagine it improves later: I couldn't get past episode 2 with any true enthusiasm), and they have to turn to their mentor. The human being, of course, who was never supposed to see magic, turns out to be the most inventive one - and also the most mature one!

I do wonder why casting picks actors who are clearly unconvincing, and, if you closed your eyes, you'd think them just any other 14 or 15 year old who lives in, say, Peoria, Illinois.

I think magic shows should be a bit more...magical. This is rather ordinary; it has none of the magic of say, The Wizard of Oz, or Harry Potter, or The Sorcerer's Apprentice, or...come to think of it, anything that requires a good script, the abililty to believe you've come to a magical land, or anything like that.

A really cute show with a mixed message
johntwatterson25 June 2022
A really cute show with a mixed message.

The show is targeted for younger children prepubescent kids around 10 years old age. Unfortunately, the actors in the show are 10 years old (mentally)... And they make a whole lot of 10 year old mistakes.

In fact, almost every decision they make is the decision that a 10-year-old child would make.

It's almost like it condones poor decision-making and lack of thought, before doing something. Instead of having a more positive message to make children think about the consequence of their actions, before they act.

The show is really cute, but can be hard to sit through as an adult. Seeing 20 something people make childish mistakes over and over again, just gets a bit old. But the stories are cute, the characters themselves are very lovable, and it's really worth watching for children.

Keep in mind, you might want to coach your children while they watch it as to why they shouldn't do or say or act the way these children do.

Pre-Adolescent
daveerrn1 July 2021
For fantasy-minded pre-adolescents who have little education in reality, who also have never had a difficult day in their lives, this silly G-Rated TV series is absolutely great. I am quite serious with the up vote, just know it is for kids.

So underrated!

It really is very underrated! It's really worth it! Yes, it is a children's series, but it really has very good graphics and narrative thread! I one, I recommend it!

Delightful premise, too rushed.
kevinfglover26 April 2022
I like the idea of the series and the characters , but the stories are too rushed to fit into the 25 minute time frame. It needs to be around 45 minutes for better pacing.

The Elf girl should get banished
msdave-445-96949722 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Does anyone else feel like the elf girl should get banished?

Of course this is just a nod to how good the actress in portraying a spoiled brat.

But anyways here to hoping she gets banished so that we won't have anymore negative vibes.

Utter Amature hour
mikemontfort10 July 2021
I could barely get through the first episode of this "kids show" from Australia. Tell me Australian teens are not so gullible. Acting is wooden. The music is purposefully cutesy. Just avoid unless you are 12.
