The 24 hours of Le Mans is the world's oldest active sports car endurance race. Held annually since 1923 near Le Mans, France, it is one of the most prestigious auto races in the world.
François Truffaut and Éric Rohmer were French filmmakers and founders of the New Wave movement of the late 50's and 60's. Rejecting the period pieces then being made in France, they made films that addressed contemporary social issues, and employed brash new film techniques that were hugely influential on subsequent generations of directors.
The first films Francis Ford Coppola directed were The Bellboy and the Playgirls (1962) and Tonight for Sure (1962) in 1962. In the early 60's nude actors on screen were a big deal and classified as 'nudie cuties' or soft core movies. He would go on to win multiple Oscars for writing and directing The Godfather (1972) and The Godfather Part II (1974)
