Not sure what maxliv2003 is smoking (or not smoking...maybe he should try it!), but this show is great. The timing is wonderful, the dialogue is well-written and snappy, and the actors are constantly competing to steal the scenery.

Totally agree with forestwalkerdavis witty dialogue in the style of the Gilmore girls real comedy is not thrown in your face it's subtle nuances packed into real life situations and observations , it's DRAMEDY not cheap sitcom with canned laughter telling you when to laugh and what a joke should be but a command of the English language

The concept of occasionally introducing a scene that looked like it could have been in West Side Story works - and it's brilliant. As is the production, the sets, costumes, hair & make-up, as well as the acting.
But the critically acclaimed writing could be improved. At least SOME of the main characters could be likable. It could be funnier. Yes, I like intelligent humor, but this needs more of that peppered in. It also could be more authentic. So much attention was paid to getting the details of the era perfectly, but none to the Jewish background, which would be fine if the main characters weren't Jewish. It feels like some of the writers and actors are not Jewish...and are guessing, or putting on something they're not. And for what? There aren't enough unemployed Jewish writers and actors in Hollywood? I find that doubtful. If it was a story about an African American family and you had a bunch of white people playing supposedly black roles, you'd notice, even if you're not black. Here, you might not have noticed if you're not Jewish, but the critics who are ranting and raving Hallelujah should have. Minus two points. Jew it up!

Midge is back in jail after using too much profanity and getting charged with contempt. Lenny helps her out. But this is mostly about her relationship with Susie. It is obvious that Susie is ready to go the extra mile. Joel continues to be "uncomfortable" playing the martyr. Meanwhile, Midge moves out of her apartment which Masel senior sells from under her and right into her parents' place. There is great writing and a real look at the tough life of the comic world.

Mrs Maisel is hilarious! And everybody else is too! I adore this show! It reminds me of a hysterical Mad Men - the late 50's estethic is featured prominently and it's intoxicating and pure! And the fashions... OMG!! Give this show a chance and u'll fall in love! I love Mrs Maisel and congrats on the well earned GG awards!!

Episode 3: Good production value, nice setting, true "epoque" atmosphere, big acting , but not a comedy, not hilarious and dragging more than a bit.
It doesn't quite know what it wanna do with itself, it drags, moves at its own pace, does some things along the way and in conclusion is not completely satisfying.
Quality doesn't always mean satisfaction. It lacks "leaders".

Why they label this a comedy i don't get it. I never even cracked one smile for 2 and a half episodes that I bared to watch. At least leave it just as a drama...The only thing good I see in this show is the atmosphere, costumes, production quality. Of course they have that the "critics" and the "snobs" gonna praise it. You will laugh a whole lot more at a standard sitcom comedy, that the "critics" and the "snobs" are going to trash on. Hell, I laughed more watching North By Northwest, and they don't label it nowhere a comedy.
