As revealed by Variety, Sanon and fellow A-list actor Kajol headline Netflix’s mystery thriller original film “Do Patti.” The film marks the producing debut of Sanon and writer Kanika Dhillon. One of Sanon’s most acclaimed acting roles is surrogacy comedy-drama “Mimi” (2021). Some of her thoughts and inputs that she discussed with director Laxman Utekar were incorporated into the film.
“I really enjoyed the whole process of how that film was made. And I felt that I want to eventually also get involved in certain films that I feel passionate about, beyond just being an actor, [to] creatively be there in the whole filmmaking process,” Sanon told Variety. “And also, hopefully, in the future, [to] be able to support and tell a lot of stories that come from my heart,...

Mumbai, March 11: Pankaj Tripathi rose to prominence with roles as the power hungry Guruji in Sacred Games and the dreaded gangster Kaleen Bhaiya in Mirzapur. The actor says he always injects humour into his dark roles so that they don't come across as extreme instances of negativity.
"I use this technique purposefully to ensure that my characters don't come off as ultimate extreme (instances) of negativity. Human nature has both sides - the good and the bad - which may be unbalanced, but never completely void of the other," Pankaj said.
He feels villains should have another side, too.
"Unlike earlier, when villains were only shown to be villainous, I think I should show the other side of them, too, through comedy or small gestures, to make them realistic and perhaps relatable," he said.
Pankaj has always managed to come across as a grounded person, even though he has tasted success.

Actor Pankaj Tripathi, who is loved for his versatility on screen, says he is glad that he got a chance to essay several interesting comic roles in Bollywood.
Tripathi's comic streak as an actor has been particularly popular in films such as "Stree", the "Fukrey" franchise, "Bareilly Ki Barfi", "Luka Chuppi" and "Angrezi Medium".
"Every piece of work has to make a point. That's the whole point of art. Although the nineties had a certain brand of comedy, new-age films demand that we poke fun more responsibly and use comedy to say something effective. In such a scenario, comedy films have to offer more than just about laughs and fun. Similarly, actors are expected to bring more to the table," Tripathi said.
"I am glad I got the chance of doing some memorable comedies like 'Stree', the 'Fukrey' franchise among others," he added.

Pay disparity has been a concern in the Hindi film industry, but things are changing, believes Kriti Sanon. The actress says the situation is getting balanced out, with female actors also getting what they deserve monetarily. On male actors being paid more than their female counterparts in films, Kriti told Ians over an e-mail interview: "I've always believed that pay has to be decided on the amount of work that you put in a film and the numbers your films drive at the box office.
"The situation is slowly but steadily balancing out where female actors are also getting their monetary due. But we still have a long way to go."
Ever since her debut in Bollywood in 2014 with Heropanti, Kriti has done her fair share of women-centric films and roles. She says she feels good when films like Bareilly Ki Barfi, Stree and Raazi do well.

The Indian film industry has historically been a male-dominated one, but the winds of change are blowing across the country, albeit slowly.
Better-served than the rest of the country is the Mumbai-based Hindi-language industry, where there are several active female filmmakers including Zoya Akhtar (“Gully Boy”), Reema Kagti (“Gold”), Leena Yadav (“Rajma Chawal”), Gauri Shinde (“Dear Zindagi”), Meghna Gulzar (“Raazi”), Shonali Bose (“Margarita With a Straw”), Farah Khan (“Om Shanti Om”) and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari (“Bareilly ki Barfi”), to name just a few.

Kriti Sanon is all set for her first release of the year "Luka Chuppi". The actress who extensively shot for the film in Mathura had a great time experiencing the locales of the city. ?
The makers of the film shot on the streets of Mathura to add an element of authenticity to her act. The unit didn't want to employ a lavishly-mounted set so they wished to showcase the city the way it is.
Kriti experienced the culture of Mathura and interacted with the locals, given that a major part of the movie was shot at real locations and in the midst of a crowd. The actress binged on kachoris and Tikki chole. It was like walking down memory lane since, being a Delhi girl, Kriti would often eat North Indian road-side food.
