Paramount+, the ViacomCBS streaming service, has unveiled a new slate of original kids and family programming, including a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles CG-animated movie series, and a Transformers: Earthspark animated series, among others. This is a rare music group created by a TV network outside of a reality series. (There are no current plans for Good Newz Girls to headline a series for Nick.) In one of Brian Robbins’ first major moves as Paramount Pictures President and CEO, he has brought in one of his top lieutenants at Nickelodeon, Ramsey Naito, to lead the film studio’s animation division in addition to her current duties as President of Nickelodeon Animation. Naito’s new title will be President, Animation & Development, Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Animation, with the expansion of her portfolio mirroring that of Robbins, who also remains President and CEO of Nickelodeon. Mireille Soria, President of Paramount Animation, is leaving.

Nickelodeon and Mattel have teamed up on two projects featuring the Clawdeen Wolf, Draculaura and Frankie Stein characters.

Tubi, the ad-supported streaming service acquired this year by Fox, unveiled a slew of new library titles, a dedicated Spanish-language destination Tubi en Español, and new advertising solutions in a NewFronts presentation.
New programming includes the entire first season of Fox’s Lego Masters; titles based on Mattel franchises like Barbie and American Girl; six movies featuring the animated Asian character Anpanman; family-friendly film Henchmen; animated comedy Monster Family and animated feature The Magic Brush.

Thanks to a recent touring musical roadshow of "Monster High" and Mattel developing their own films in-house, there is renewed interest for Universal Pictures co-production of a live-action "Monster High" movie musical, with award-winning producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron ("Chicago') co-directing:

The central monster of “Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween” — Slappy, a sentient ventriloquist dummy driven by revenge and delusions of grandeur — is horrifying to behold, and the movie never lets you forget it: There’s the menacing Slappy standing in the middle of a room, there’s Slappy patiently sitting on an oblivious character’s lap, and ripping the screws out of a ladder while another character stands on top of it. Toymaker Mattel Inc. is creating of Mattel Films, a new division producing motion pictures based on its globally recognized franchises.
Hollywood veteran Robbie Brenner, producer of “Dallas Buyers Club,” has been appointed to lead Mattel Films as executive producer, reporting to Ynon Kreiz, Mattel’s new chairman and CEO. The deal was announced on Thursday afternoon.
