Mean Old Witch
Here's an early version of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, shown in six scenes, and eight shots. Whoever plays the witch wears an elaborate mask to give her a huge nose and a general look of acromegaly, and the oven Gretel shoves her into is a gas-fired baking oven.
It's clearly intended for an audience that knows the old, familiar fairy tale, caught in its German version on paper in he early 19th century, in all its gory and unpleasant details. It's very primitive for 1908, but must have pleased its audience greatly.
