Vir Das is an incredibly brave and smart comic! He tackles issues like religion, politics and race so smoothly! The show was intellectually stimulating and hilarious. I found the heartwarming stories a nice touch in the midst of some potentially inflammatory themes. I for one cannot wait to see further work!

This guy is a pure gem for India ! He made India proud but saying nothing but the geniune and kind truth about us and hatts off to his efforts on the knowledge he had gained. VIR DAS is really am outstanding amazing performer , he doesn't take his show as just a SHOW but as a MASTERPIECE !
It's just not that funny...

It was with a great joy I turned on Vir Das' stand-up show. Knowing him from Bollywood comedies with great timing.
But as much as I wanted to like his show, it was just not that funny, unfortunately. At times cringe worthy with original ideas just not working (with one scene which he probably thought would be his "somebody's gonna get a hurt real bad"). Sometimes his original ideas were just flat. I did not laugh out (even loud) even once. At best a smile.
After watching stand-up shows with Russell Peters, Kevin Hart, Louis CK etc this one just seemed like on amateur level.
And his Indian accent was unfortunately NOT something I got used to. And I know it's a part of the joke or the whole set up, but it just did not work for me.
I know this was his first try, and I must give him kudos for the effort. But when you get a Netflix special, it's expected that you deliver.
I give the four stars for the effort and he made me smile (at best) a couple of times. But I expect more from a stand-up comedian.

Overrated

More of Netflix recent PC propaganda. Basically every joke is either a liberal talking point or Americans do x Indians do y. I understand that it must require some intelligence to perform stand up in a second language, but, it is just too preachy for my taste. I barely ever agree with Louis CK, but, I can't deny the man is hilarious. This guy isn't. I'd skip it.
hear it before

This was painful to watch. Save yourself the time and don't bother watching this train wreck (that lame pun was better than anything in this special). I have never been a big fan but he was better when he was stealing other people's jokes. Maybe he should search some old comedy tapes for new material. 1 star is generous for this slop.
terrible

It's awkward to sit through because the jokes aren't really laugh-out- loud funny by any means and it moves super slow. The guys seem like cool guys but I didn't want to sit and watch them finish each other's sentences over and over again while they swayed back and forth and putted around the stage awkwardly. Nothing too entertaining to watch.
