Visual excellence

A masterclass in authored story telling lead by artist. In his truest sense Lamar's work is that of a renaissance man. This short film is unequivocally one of the best visual essays of 2017.

Warning: Spoilers
These slightly under 5 minutes we got here are the 2017 music video for the song DNA by Kendrick Lamar. It was directed by Nabil Elderkin and The Little Homies, whatever that means, who also worked on several other Lamar videos. So quite many directors for such a short film. The part early on is maybe the most interesting when we see the protagonist in an interrogation room and he is taking charge of the body of the man asking the questions and the latter is played by Oscar nominee Don Cheadle, so fans of the actor or fans of rap music and/or Kendrick Lamar can check this one out. I am none of all that really, even if I don't despise it either, but I guess that's why I did not end up liking it. The audio was even worse to me than the visual side. Overall, I give this one a thumbs-down and it's nowhere near the best recent music videos I have seen. Watch and listen to something else instead.
