“Never!” is the quick response Emmy winner Carson Daly has when asked if he predicted his hosting gig on “The Voice” would last for 20 seasons. “It was quite the opposite. People thought we were crazy. If you recall the landscape in television at that time, ‘American Idol,’ by all accounts, was kind of rounding third heading for home after their monumental success. Yet there still seemed to be an appetite for singing competitions because ‘X-Factor’ was coming over from Europe. When we got this format from Holland, we had a very small window of time to get it on NBC before ‘X-Factor.’ We never thought we’d last, we barely thought we would survive.” Watch the exclusive video interview with Daly above.

“We’re out and I’m not in sweatpants,” Pink proudly announced as she stepped out onto the stage of the Hollywood Bowl for the premiere of her new Amazon Prime Video documentary, “Pink: All I Know So Far,” which she described as “a movie about my family, and some stadium stuff.” Bringing that stadium stuff down to its most basic level, the singer preceded the screening with an acoustic four-song mini-set.
Pink was performing for an audience of about 4,000 healthcare workers, frontline responders and other invited guests, very socially distanced in groups of four throughout a venue that seats 17,000 — second in a four-part series of free shows that the LA Philharmonic is putting on for essential workers in May and June in advance of the Bowl’s official reopening to the public July 3. Two nights earlier, Billie Eilish had introduced a similarly limited free concert by the LA Phil.

Tj might be across the ocean for Manifest season 3, but Olive has a new university student to puzzle through the historical artifacts with: her father’s latest research assistant Levi, played by actor Will Peltz. Begrudgingly at first, Levi accepts Olive’s help with all of the Al-Zuras material coming in from Tj’s investigation in Egypt, something she worked on back in season two. The pair seem destined to bond despite their rocky start, and Peltz gave us some insight into the newest character on the show.
Peltz welcomed the chance to play a character whose intentions are good despite his initial arrogance in the latest episode of Manifest. “The cool thing about Levi and what really attracted me to the character was that he’s not stereotypical and he’s not just this one dimensional character,” he says. “I feel like this character could be just this… brainy,...

Game Of Thrones star Sophie Turner becomes the object of a teen time traveller's affection and regret in the first Time Freak trailer.
It's a frustrating time to be a Sophie Turner fan. The final season of HBO's ratings-hogger Game Of Thrones won't arrive until well into 2019, and Dark Phoenix, the forthcoming X-Men film that the actress will be the center of, has just had its release date pushed back - again - until the summer of next year.
Here's something to tide you over, then! A first trailer for Turner's new sci-fi rom-com Time Freak has arrived. Andrew Bowler has directed this feature based on his 2011 short film of the same name, and it looks to be the sort of thing you'd watch on an evening and go "ahh, that was nice."
Turner's co-stars here are Asa Butterfield (who led the ill-fated Ender's Game adaptation...

"I have created what every broken heart wants: a second chance." Lionsgate has debuted the first official trailer for a time travel romantic comedy titled Time Freak, a full-length feature film version of Andrew Bowler's Oscar nominated short film of the same name from a few years ago. The romantic comedy is about a kid who invents his own time machine to try to travel back in time and save his relationship. As expected, things go wrong. Asa Butterfield stars, with Sophie Turner, Skyler Gisondo, Will Peltz, and Aubrey Reynolds. As much as I enjoy time travel films, this has been done so many times before. When will we learn that you can't go back in time and fix a relationship or make things go differently? It never works! And yet they keep making movies that ask and answer this question over and over, with the same result. Oh well.

The Australian short film, “The Eleven O’Clock” provides the lone comedic entry among this year’s nominees at the Oscars for Best Live Action Short Film. This marks the first nomination for director Derin Seale and writer Josh Lawson.
The film opens on psychiatrist, Dr. Terry Phillips (Lawson), sitting in his office when a woman enters. She tells him her name is Linda and she is a temp for the normal receptionist who is out for the morning. He tells her that’s fine and asks her who his 11:00 appointment is with. She replies it’s a new patient who suffers from delusions of grandeur and believes himself to be a psychiatrist. Soon after, a man walks into the office saying he is Dr. Nathan Klein (Damon Herriman), apologizing for his lateness and that he is ready for their appointment.
