Castiel leaves the brothers to search for Jack alone, hoping angels can enlighten him, while hell is just as clueless. Archangel Michael arrogantly taunts Lucifer in an eternal torment in solitude cage and saps some of his 'grace' for prophet Kevin Tran's contraption to open a single-person portal to earthly reality, but Lucifer manages to jump into it. Lacking all his powers, he turns to Castiel, demanding to join his alliance with the Winchester brothers against Asmodeus. A witch turns to the brothers seeking protection from the magical killer who eliminates her sisters, always asking under torment for the whereabouts of Rachel. Trapped, a man looking exactly like Arthur Ketch maintains under Dean's torture to be his less evil twin Alexander Ketch, a mercenary hunter seeking to redeem his non-admission to the Men of Letters. He's left behind chained, but luckily invited himself to follow the brothers on a lead right to Castiel, Lucifer and Asmodeus, who now seeks to become permanent regent of hell by smiting his now powerless former master, before coming clean to Dean.
