The Flash and Elongated Man Strike Back
ThomasDrufke11 April 2018
As filler episodes go, this week's Flash episode doesn't necessarily do a whole lot to progress the plot but leaves enough for us with DeVoe to make it an episode semi-worth watching. If I'm being honest, this episode wasn't memorable at all. I'm having trouble even remembering some minor things that happened because I found myself spacing out for a good deal of the episode.

But in all seriousness, I'm just having toruble caring about what's going on this season for The Flash. First, this episode had the subplot of Breacher asking Cisco to both fix his powers and to eventually take his place after he realizes he's no longer capable of vibing. It's not that this storyline is bad, but why should I actually care for a plot that I know won't matter within a few episodes? Does anyone honestly believe Cisco will leave Team Flash? No.

Other than the team finding the 11th bus meta, it was a big Ralph and Barry week. They disagreed on how things should be handled in the field and butted heads about it, but ultimately realized there isn't one right or wrong way to be a hero, you just have to get the job done. Oh and then there was the one out of nowhere scene with Wells going back in to see Gideon and basically acting like Eobard Thawne? What was that about? I have to imagine that's just a red herring, right?

Borish and uneventful

Warning: Spoilers
The title says it all... This is most definitely a filler episode that does little to nothing to drive the plot of the season.

Barry and Ralph bicker over how to be a hero, but ultimately figure out it doesn't matter so long as the job gets done. Personally, I don't find Ralph to be endearing or funny, and am with Barry on there being a time and a place.

The subplot with Breacher (Danny Trejo) returning to ask Cisco for help to figure out why he can't vibe feels disjointed and awkward for so many reasons. There is no explanation why he is suddenly on his best behavior with Cisco, and it just feels contrived, the constant reference to Cisco's forlorn love who's effectively nonexistent was annoying and repetitive, as if we'd forget his motivation in 3 minutes or less.

And to add insult to injury, once Caitlin tells Cisco the real reason for his loss of power, the decision to keep it from Breacher is out of character and ultimately pointless, only leading to a horribly bad green-screen sequence of poor Danny "acting" even sillier attempting to use his no-longer-existent powers-it was truly painful to watch. We only learn the true reason for this drawn-out charade when Breacher returns one last time to inform Cisco of his retirement and that he'd like him to take his place, which would give him more time with Gypsy... Talk about a Catch-22...

The final fight with Ralph having to save the day with his giant whoopie-cushion antics would only be humorous to a 3-year-old. Overall, this episode was just fluff filling in a gap in the timeline. 5.5/10.0

One of the best episodes of the season(can't top the mid season finale or Crisis)

Warning: Spoilers
This episode wasn't filler. We have another bus meta to deal with and we get more of the DeVoe's. We see how Clifford has been trapping this wife in a constant loop and restarting it. Bill was an ok side villain. Her powers were great to see. The comedy was great at some points. The fart joke was stretching it. The Jay and Silent Bob Easter egg was fantastic, hats off to you Kevin Smith (he directed the episode). Danny Trejo coming back was funny and cool. The arc with him losing his powers and asking Cisco to help was nice. Shows that he's grown as a man and a father. Now. The ending with Harry Wells was just FANTASTIC. The Reverse Flasb Easter egg was top notch. Hoping we see how that's going to play out.

Pros-

Harry Easter egg

Jay and Silent Bob Easter egg

Null's powers.

More about the DeVoe's.

The loop Clifford has put his wife in.

Kevin Smith directing the episode.

Breached returns.

Vampires are a thing in the Arrowverse

Cons-

The comedy was stretched out a bit when it came to the fart joke.

Most boring Flash episode I ever saw...
bv_ionut28 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Barry can create vents with his hands to blow air towards the ground and land gently - like he did in the past (dunno which season)... but it was an idea that came to mind instantly.... & instead they have to nerf him so Dibny can do his thing.... I have the feeling that character is so unnecessary!!! + MAchette/Breacher being nervous all the time is very unrealistic... No one is like that ALL THE TIME..... AND, to top it off, he's old af now.... Vibe afraid of an elderly man?! I get it... It's a show about super-heroes and what-not.... but the writers should take more care for how human behaviour develops...

There was also a jewelry thief meta... cough* cough* -generic much?

This one hurt my head. It was bad.
mastiffmancm14 April 2018
Danny Trejo is horrible in the role they have him in. Awful. Period. Iris became the leader of team flash this season and it's went down hill from there. Loved the show, now I cringed through last 2 episodes, both the worst of the whole series. Let me stick my two hands out over and over again and grunt. Haaa haaaa nope the Vibe is gone

The Flash: A comedy
michaelfleming99912 April 2018
Show has lost me as a fan. It's ridiculous writing and poor plots are boring to say the least. Dibny character and the actor that play him are nothing more than unnecessary. The show isn't even about the Flash anymore.

What the h is happening to this great series?
fireandlightning14 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The title of this episode gives says it all - annoyed.

Ever since the series introduced Ralph I've been trying to ignore this character. He's so incredibly annoying and this episode just made me furious with him. The character is so bland, so uninteresting and has no respect or regard for others, even himself, it makes it impossible to like this character even the tiniest. Also in this episode is the tragic character of Gypsy's father played by Danny Trejo, who maybe tries to be funny/frightening, but it just doesn't work. And why the h is there now vampires in this? I just... I don't understand.

I really used to look forward to new The Flash episodes, but this is just dragging on now. Get rid of Ralph and DeVoe and focus on making The Flash great again. I miss the times with different Earth's, Barry being at crime scenes and being introduced to interesting people and Meta's. The only really good thing about this episode was Jay and Silent Bob, such a blast from the past.

Jokes? The only joke is season 4
aopek21 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Every review I try to write is the same.

Because EVERY F@@@@NG episode is the same.

Lame Flash meets a bad guy and got his ass kicked.

ALL THE TIME. I don't remember him ever win a first meeting even with the lamest of lames enemies.

Then his "amazing" team finds something and Flash goes to fight again and wins.

Well in this episode he got his ass kicked again.

Flash has the best powers ever. But he is the worst hero ever and he fails everytime he fights alone. He just stays in battles and let slow guys beat him without even moving.

You are THE FASTEST MAN ALIVE .... STOP LETTING NORMAL MOVING PEOPLE TOUCH YOU AND BEAT YOU !

I can't making excuses for him any more.

Writers make him lame and weak just because "Team Flash" wooohooo.

5/10 and I am very generous.

It is so annoying and going towards null!
asb_deutsch16 April 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Welcome back, flash fans! The title says it all- Null and Annoyed. Team Flash as usual. Danny Trejo was totally unnecessary and silly. Even Barry using his wits to be nice with Dibney was overdramatic. Why didn't Flash used the air float option in the end? Just to show that Dibney also has a life-saver package? Sheesh! My ratings (based on what I marked on IMDb): Season 1: 200/23 = 8.69 Season 2: 193/23= 8.23; Season 3: 188/23= 8.17; and Season 4: 111/17= 6.53 (This episode = 5/10)

Ranking/Reviewing every Flash episode: Null and Annoyed
lbramson12 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Barry and Ralph fight a gravity controlling meta. Breacher comes to Cisco with some devastating news. This one hurts. This one really hurts. As you all know, Cisco is my favorite character. I love him! I don't like him in this episode at all! It's a shame, even Cisco is annoying now. Him not telling Breacher he's literally dying was so out of character and mean spirited. No one wants to watch their favorite character be mean for half an episode, it's just sad and uncomfortable. What else is there to talk about? Oh yeah, the Barry and Ralph storyline! It's alright, nothing to really note. This episode sucks because of Cisco, he's so out of character in this episode, PAINFUL! Felt like being kicked in the balls by the Rock while Gordon Ramsey is yelling swears in your ear, jamming kababs in your eyes! Ugh!

3.5/10-aRrOwCuRsE Episode.
