Ridiculous plot to begin with but settled down nicely
witra_as21 July 2021
Not as strong as KathNiel's previous collab eventhough they still showed nice chemistry. Mae Cruz-Alviar got ridiculous plot to begin with. A fun romcom to watch about 'wakeup call' moments before marriage that IMO many people can always relate to.

Best companion to feel good, away from stress, to daydream of finding your own Gabgab or Dos
butchydawn19 April 2017
CHFIL is one of the few Pinoy movies I watched in cinema. Why? Because they usually have heart-wrenching scenes that I am not sure to manage to inside the cinema. And then why did I watch? because I can't wait to see what Kathryn Bernardo will be in this new offer. I am definitely recommending this one for those whose looking for a feel good stories but with depth. true, circumstances in the movie are far-fetched from reality, but not an impossibility. then there are the actors while watching, you just can't help to imagine them acting the same goofiness and just be silly in real life. you can't help to wished it to be the reality. you sharing time and space with them, witnessing their moments while they are falling in love with each other. you just can't help to wish to find the same kind of love, to find your own Gabgab, to find your own Dos.

Mediocre, Wouldn't really recommend to others.

Warning: Spoilers
The story was poorly written. The only reason I didn't give this a 1-star rating is because of the PG-rated jokes. The story is rushed; Kathryn's character is the only one that had any character development. The whole cast wasn't even introduced at all. Kathryn and Daniel's acting is still mediocre.

To sum it up, "Can't Help Falling in Love" is just another "Barcelona: A Love Untold" with the clichéd formula for the story. In my opinion, the movie only gained popularity from its "kilig" moments and fan-service. Although, the movie did teach some life lessons.

~~~ANALYSIS OF THE MOVIE~~ ***SPOILERS AHEAD, STOP READING IF YOU DON'T LIKE SPOILERS :C***
The story kicked off with a plot-hole. The conflict was caused by a stupid mistake: Gab and Dos signed marriage papers in a nightclub. First, how do you even get MARRIAGE PAPERS in a nightclub? Did they just pull it from thin air? And after they signed it, shouldn't the papers be brought to an office? The papers should be lost in that populated, busy, and loud area. Does signing a piece of paper make something legal that fast? No, it has to go through a process before it is approved.
Anything that follows that was uninteresting and unrealistic. The movie did teach one lesson: Be independent. If anyone should make your decisions, it should be you.
Breathtakingly real
I never leave reviews but this movie calls for one. The chemistry of the 2 leads is magical! You can see the love literally radiating off his face when he looks at her. This is an amazing film. Equal parts comedy, and romance. Absolute perfection
okay movie. not the best from katniel though.
pmaeeduvala15 January 2022
The plot itself was crazy, but it was somewhat alright as the movie progressed, and the dialogue was okay. The acting was like alright, but the writing was really weird at certain moments. There's also way too many moments where i wonder if anything makes sense in this. 5/10. Okay. I wouldn't recommend this movie, however, if you like the "katniel" movies, i recommend watching the 'hows of us' or 'she's dating the gangster.'
Live Your Life, Live Your Dreams!
spasek2 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This is the fourth Filipino film that I've now seen, and they're quickly winning me over and desiring more! I'm only concerned that I'll run out via Netflix, leaving me wondering how I'm going to watch some more.
"Crazy Beautiful You" was my first foray and with the same two delightful leads in Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. There's no denying their chemistry, which probably makes things much easier for them as they are a real-life couple. Their charm and obvious feelings permeate the screen. I also love the fact that neither one of them is afraid to show genuine emotion.
This go-around sees Gab, who has been with her boyfriend for 6 years. Finally, he proposes to her. Except that Gab has a problem: she's already married! To her dismay, she finds that after a drunken night, she has married Dos, a young man she met at the club.
Unlike America, where people can get divorces and/or annulments fairly easily, it is not so easy to do in the Phillippines. Gab finds herself having to track Dos down and get him to agree to a divorce. He agrees, as hilarity ensues as Gab tries to play out various "divorce reasons" to satisfy the court. Everything from impotence, insanity, homosexuality, etc. These will have you laughing out loud.
However, as one may predict, Gab and Dos start falling for each other as they attempt to track down the one witness they need to satisfy the divorce criteria. While the initial format is predictable, the way things play out is not. There are a couple of twists that I'm not sure anyone will see coming.
I was also pleased that the writer didn't fall for the overly-used "big climactic ending" that is so commonplace that they're actually boring. Instead, we get a true, legitimate ending that satisfies the story, the characters, and the viewer. And while I loved "Crazy Beautiful You," the ending of this film is done much better, in my opinion.
Another thing I love about these movies is that they have poignant messages. This film dares one to live your dream. Live your own life. No one, not even parents, have the right to control your life and tell you how to live it. And you can't be afraid to make mistakes. How else does one learn? How else does one realize what works and what doesn't work without mistakes?
Mary Tyler Moore once said, "Someone who has had nothing but perfect and wonderful experiences isn't very brave." It takes adversity to truly strengthen a person.
Parents and partners alike have one job: empower your children and empower your partner. Give them the space and freedom to be who they are. Control is never the answer. Control is about allowing someone else to live your life for you. Freedom is about allowing someone to live their own life. This movie dares you to do the latter.
I'm no critic but...
lushindah9 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I'm not critic, as a matter of fact this is the one time I've even left a review, but this movie... Was just that amazing! Stop here if you haven't seen it by the way.
I have so many reasons for loving the movie, and I'm still on a high from watching it, but I've honestly never loved a romantic comedy as much as I have this one. And its my first Filipino movie at that!
For one thing, they way they handled their relationships and problems (comedy aspect aside) was so breathtakingly mature! They deal with the consequences of their actions and attempt to be honest with one another. The way in which Gab broke up with her fiance was one of the most mature breakup scenes I've ever seen in a movie.
And oh my God, Dos? Dos has DESTROYED me...I need a man that looks at me the way Dos looks at Gab. The chemistry and acting of the two leads pushed this movie above and beyond. If I honestly think about it, the premise of the movie could have been handled so badly. But with these two gracing the screen, a simple romantic comedy became a heart-wrenching, breath-takingly REAL romance.
Long story short, I've found a favorite romantic comedy, and now I understand why some people can watch the same romantic movies over and over again, because this is one movie I'll never get tired of.
Just your typical pinoy romantic film!
yologets20 May 2022
I hope they get paired to someone else. It is very tiring seeing them all the time, making the same kind of film all the time.
Overrated and very generic.
Fun loving romantic movie
sez_tim10 January 2021
Yes once again Daniel and Katherine have produced another fantastic romantic movie, I really love the chemistry between these two. The script is well done for a teenagey styled movie, its sweet and easy to watch, I've seen it a couple of times. A good watch for sure
