Achieves everything it goes for, a milestone in atmospheric music (video) history

So if you see the title of my review and the rating I gave the music video for Madonna's song "Frozen", then you know exactly already how much I liked it. It's from 1998, so will have its 20th anniversary next year (man... time flies) and Madonna was 40 when she made this one. In my opinion, it is probably the best she has ever come up with and same can be said about her director here, Chris Cunningham and if you know remotely how prolific and successful both of them were over the dace, you know that this is a huge compliment. The song is a winner. The lyrics are deep, but never pretentious and Madonna's voice works oh so well with the restrained yet naturally wild approach. And the transition to the music video was flawless. It doesn't even matter where she is exactly during these 5.5 minutes. It may be some ice desert. I like that they included animals here and these rising black crows perfectly capture the savage spirit in terms of force of nature that you will hopefully feel as well like I did when listening to the song. I am not even a great henna fan, but this video was quite a trendsetter with regard to removable ink back then. The blackness of Madonna in terms of the ink, but also in terms of her clothes made for such a nice contrast between her and her setting and yet she is still one with everything around her. Such an aesthetic and atmospheric video. Such a beautiful and meaningful song and performance by Madonna. I applaud everybody who worked on this video. In my opinion, it's right now the second best of the year after the Spice Girls' Viva Forever. Man was female pop music top-notch back then. No comment if I compare these to today's stuff. But lets not be grim now. Frozen gets a thumbs-up as big as it gets. It's a masterpiece that everybody should have seen and listened to at least once. There you go.

Cold, dark, impregnated by symbols, it is an admirable work, fascinating in each detail. So, just impressive at each level.
